Senior UX Designer

Function / Department: Engineering – Electrical & Instrumentation

About the Role

This role involves leading the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) design and estimation function for water and wastewater treatment projects. The position focuses on design calculations, tender evaluation, proposal support, and vendor coordination to ensure technical accuracy and cost efficiency in project delivery.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification:

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering

Experience:

• Minimum 10–15 years of total experience, with at least 7 years in the water industry (Water Treatment, Wastewater Treatment, Desalination, or similar domains)

Key Skills & Expertise

• Design and estimation of MCC, PLC, cabling, and field instruments
• Hands-on experience in process and proposal engineering for E&I estimation
• Strong understanding of tender specifications and ability to estimate E&I scope accurately
• Vendor and client coordination for technical clarifications and commercial evaluations
• Proficiency in preparing design documents, datasheets, and engineering drawings

Key Responsibilities

• Perform design calculations for electrical panels, MCCs, cables, and earthing systems
• Estimate power consumption, size motors and MCCs based on plant requirements
• Review tender documents and prepare specifications and datasheets for MCCs, motors, cables, and LPBS
• Develop single line diagrams (SLDs), schematic diagrams, and VFD panel specifications
• Prepare plant layouts for cable trays, earthing systems, and related E&I infrastructure
• Generate load lists (process & supply) based on mechanical and process inputs
• Prepare cable and interconnection schedules for WTP/STP/ETP projects
• Create instrument indices, IO lists, JB schedules, SOV box schedules, and RFQs for PLC systems and field instruments (PG, PT, MGFT, LS, LG, analyzers, etc.)
• Conduct technical evaluations of vendor offers for MCCs, motors, cables, VFDs, PLCs, and instruments
• Participate in inspection, testing, and FATs for panels and E&I systems at vendor facilities
• Support internal and client project review meetings, resolving technical queries from clients and vendors

Strong UX / Product Designer profile

Mandatory (Experience 1) - Must have 3+ YOE in UX / Product Design, with a focus towards B2C Products

Mandatory (Experience 2) - Must have recent 2+ YOE in a Good Product Company

Mandatory (Experience 3) - Must have worked on both UX and UI / Visual Designs (some UI / Visual Design experience is required)

Mandatory (Experience 4) - Strong collaboration experience with Product Managers, Researchers, and other Product stakeholders

Mandatory (Portfolio) - Strong portfolio of UX Design and UI/Visual Designs (both are Mandatory) for B2C Products

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the project team to gather requirements and understand user needs.
• Design and develop web applications using the MERN stack.
• Write clean and efficient code for both the front-end and back-end.
• Ensure the creation of responsive and cross-browser compatible web applications.
• Optimize applications for speed, performance, and scalability.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues, and participate in code reviews.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for front-end interactions.
• Integrate third-party libraries and APIs when required.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest web development trends and best practices.
• Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure code quality.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to meet project deadlines.
• Document code and technical specifications.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.
• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience as a MERN Stack Developer.
• Proficiency in Node.js and Express.js for building the back-end of web applications.
• Strong knowledge and experience in React.js for front-end development.
• Expertise in MongoDB for database design and management.
• Strong understanding of JavaScript, ES6+
• Familiarity with RESTful API development and integration.
• Ability to work with HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
• Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
• Problem-solving skills and an aptitude for learning new technologies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Tech Lead / Management experience.
