Senior Software Engineer

What you’ll be doing

• Lead the development of our across all phases of software and web development including ideation, prototyping, design, production, and maintenance.
• Work closely with founders and internal/external stakeholders to build products, tools, and services from scratch and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Be actively involved in requirements gathering, customer interviews and the creation of robust product solutions.
• Brainstorm and lay the foundations of the technology and architectural roadmap as well as the development processes.
• Share your technical expertise to help the team make thoughtful and scalable design decisions and identify performance bottlenecks to troubleshoot quickly.
• Manage product development priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Hire and manage a small team of engineers (internal/outsourced).
• Ensure high-performant and responsive web applications and websites.

Skills & Qualities we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• 4-7 years of experience as a full-stack developer (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers) at a fast-paced, preferably early / growth stage start-up.
• Proficient with frontend technologies - HTML, CSS, JavaScript & ReactJS/VueJS.
• Proficient with backend technologies - Java/NodeJs/Golang/Python/Ruby.
• Hands-on experience working with any cloud AWS/GCP/Azure/DigitalOcean.
• Knowledge of codebases and version control systems (Git).
• Well-versed with SQL database design & RDBMS concepts.
• Strong arithmetic reasoning, logical and analytical thinking skills.
• Strong knowledge of code quality maintenance and performance analysis.

Responsibilities:

● Design and develop advanced applications for the Android platform, ensuring high performance, responsiveness, and user-friendly interfaces.

● Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to define project requirements and deliver innovative solutions.

● Implement and maintain backend services, APIs, and databases to support mobile applications.

● Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure application stability and performance optimization.

● Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve development processes.

● Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior team members when necessary.

Requirements:

● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

● 2+years of professional experience as an Android developer, with expertise in Kotlin and Java programming languages.

● Strong understanding of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and familiarity with Material Design principles. ● Proficiency in frontend technologies such as XML, JSON, and third-party libraries.

● Experience with backend development using technologies like Node.js, Python, or PHP.

● Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) and experience in designing schemas and optimizing queries.

● Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and a passion for learning new technologies.

● Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) and serverless architecture.

● Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

● Previous experience in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

● Published apps on the Google Play Store or contributions to open-source projects

Roles and Responsibilities:

1.    Develop, enhance, document, and maintain application features in C#/Asp.Net.

2.    Excellent understanding of Database concepts and strong ability to write well-tuned SQL Statements.

3.    Participate in design, code and test inspections throughout product life cycle to contribute technical expertise and to identify issues.

4.     Knowledge of developing desktop-based applications is also desirable.

5.    Understand technical project priorities, implementation, dependencies, risks and issues.

6.    Big Data knowledge is a Plus.

7.    Drive design reviews while adhering to security requirements.

8.    Provide direction for .Net developers and act as escalation point for questions or issues.

9.    Performs technical analysis to identify and troubleshoot application code – related issues.
