Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Backend and Data Developer with expertise in Java, SQL, BigQuery development working on public clouds, mainly GCP. As a Senior Data Developer, you will play a vital role in designing, building, and maintaining robust systems to support our data analytics. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex services, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to drive successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of data pipelines and automation scripts with Python
• Creation of data queries and optimization of database processes with SQL
• Use of bash scripts for system administration, automation and deployment processes
• Database and cloud technologies
• Managing, optimizing and querying large amounts of data in an Exasol database (prospectively Snowflake)
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Operation and scaling of cloud-based BI solutions, in particular
• Composer (Airflow): Orchestration of data pipelines for ETL processes
• Cloud Functions: Development of serverless functions for data processing and automation
• Cloud Scheduler: Planning and automation of recurring cloud jobs
• Cloud Secret Manager: Secure storage and management of sensitive access data and API keys
• BigQuery: Processing, analyzing and querying large amounts of data in the cloud
• Cloud Storage: Storage and management of structured and unstructured data
• Cloud monitoring: monitoring the performance and stability of cloud-based applications
• Data visualization and reporting
• Creation of interactive dashboards and reports for the analysis and visualization of business data with Power BI

Requirements

• Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in backend development, with strong expertise in BigQuery, Python and MongoDB or SQL.
• Strong knowledge of database design, querying, and optimization with SQL and MongoDB and designing ETL and orchestration of data pipelines.
• Expierience of minimum of 2 years with at least one hyperscaler, in best case GCP
• Combined with cloud storage technologies, cloud monitoring and cloud secret management
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Key Skills Required :

1. Proficiency in Python 3.x based web and backend development
2. Solid understanding of Python concepts
3. Strong experience in building web applications using Django
4. Experience building REST APIs using DRF or Flask
5. Experience with some form of Machine Learning (ML)
6. Experience in using libraries such as Numpy and Pandas
7. Hands on experience with RDBMS such as Postgres or MySQL including querying
8. Comfort with Git repositories, branching and deployment using Git
9. Working experience with Docker
10. Basic working knowledge of ReactJs
11. Experience in deploying Django applications to AWS,Digital Ocean or Heroku

Responsibilities :

1. Understanding requirement and congributing to engineering solutions at a conceptual stage to provide the best possible solution to the task/challenge
2. Building high quality code using coding standards based on the SRS/Documentation
3. Building component based, maintainable, scalable and reusable backend libraries/modules.
4. Building & documenting scalable APIs on the Open Spec standard
5. Unit testing development modules and APIs
6. Conducting code reviews to ensure that the highest quality standard are maintained
7. Securing backend applications and APIs using industry best practices
8. Troubleshooting issues and fixing bugs raised by the QA team efficiently.

• Relevant Experience : Minimum 2 Years
• You have prior experience developing and working on consumer facing web/app products
• Hands-on experience on Python. Exceptions can be made if you’re really good on any other language with experience on building web/app based tech products
• Experience in at least one of the following frameworks - Django, Flask, Falcon, web2py, Twisted, Tornado
• Working knowledge of MySQL, MongoDB, Redis
• Good understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms and Operating Systems
• You've worked with core AWS services in the past and have experience with EC2, ELB, AutoScaling, CloudFront, S3
• You can dabble in Frontend codebases using HTML, CSS and Javascript

You will primarily be responsible for architecting and building large scale data pipelines that delivers AI and Analytical solutions to our customers. The right candidate will enthusiastically take ownership in developing and managing a continuously improving, robust, scalable software solutions. Although your primary responsibilities will be around back-end work, we prize individuals who are willing to step in and contribute to other areas including automation, tooling, and management applications. Experience with or desire to learn Machine Learning a plus.

10+ years of industry experience in java related frameworks such as Spring and/or Typesafe

Experience with scripting languages. Python experience highly desirable. 5+ Industry experience in python

Experience with popular modern web frameworks such as Spring boot, Play framework, or Django

Demonstrated expertise of building and shipping cloud native applications

Experience in administering (including setting up, managing, monitoring) data processing pipelines (both streaming and batch) using frameworks such as Kafka, ELK Stack, Fluentd

Experience in API development using Swagger

Strong expertise with containerization technologies including kubernetes, docker-compose

Experience with cloud platform services such as AWS, Azure or GCP.

Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests

Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

Familiarity with continuous integration, Jenkins
