Senior Java Backend Engineer

The shift hours for this role is as follows: 2pm-11pm OR 3pm- 12am IST.

Role Overview:

Backend Developer- Healthcare Interoperability (Java/Spring Boot), will be responsible for developing components of a Healthcare Interface Engine. This includes working on EHR connectors, data transformations, and scalable APIs, while collaborating with the architect to deliver secure and high performance workflows

Responsibilities:

• Build EHR connectors for inbound/outbound data (Epic, Athena, Cerner, etc.).
• Implement HL7 v2, FHIR R4, and X12 EDI transaction flows.
• Design, build, and maintain REST APIs for interoperability services. Handle transformations between JSON, XML, HL7 v2, and EDI. Implement queuing, retries, and error handling logic.
• Collaborate with architect on scalable and secure workflows. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across the stack, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and advocate for continuous improvement within the team.

Requirements & Skills:

• Strong in Java / Spring Boot and Spring Integration
• RESTful API development & security (OAuth2, JWT)
• Data transformation libraries (Jackson, Smooks, HAPI FHIR)
• Parsing HL7 v2, Json, FHIR & X12 EDI (837, 835)
• Messaging systems (Kafka / RabbitMQ etc)
• SQL/NoSQL databases (Postgres, Redis etc)

• BS in CS or EE or equivalent
• Experience working on large scale systems in rapid growth environments
• Experience with public cloud offerings (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Solid programming skills; preferred experience in Java, and/or Python
• Experience with modern web frameworks, advanced algorithms/data intelligence, public
• cloud platforms and streaming data pipelines
• Familiarity with containerization, microservices architecture, continuous integration, and delivery
• 5+ years’ experience preferred

Responsibilities: 
Developing and maintaining all server-side network components. 
Ensuring optimal performance of the central database and responsiveness to front-end requests. 

Collaborating with front-end developers on the integration of elements. 

Designing back-end services for various business processes.ses. 

Developing high-performance applications by writing testable, reusable, and efficient code. 

Implementing effective security protocols, data protection measures, and storage solutions. 

Running diagnostic tests, repairing defects, and providing technical support. 

Documenting Node.js processes, including database schemas, as well as preparing reports. 

Recommending and implementing improvements to processes and technologies. 

Keeping informed of advancements in the field of Node.js development. 

Skills: 

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information science, or similar. 

At least two years' experience as a Node.js developer. 

Extensive knowledge of JavaScript, web stacks, libraries, and frameworks. 

Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3. 

Superb interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. 

Exceptional analytical and problem-solving aptitude. 

Great organizational and time management skills. 

Availability to resolve urgent web application issues outside of business hours. 

The Junior/ Senior Software Engineer will be a member of the development team for Supply Chain Application module suite. The Supply Chain modules includes components at various layers, including server-side, integration, supply chain planning engines and user-interface. This individual will be responsible for participating in module development and providing technical assistance to junior members of the team.

Experience and Skills:

• 4-10 years of of experience in writing software
• Strong analytical problem solving skills
• Strong Object Oriented Programming Skills. Good understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Extensive knowledge of the Java programming language
• Understanding of software design patterns, J2EE components (EJB, JSP, Servlets), and XML
• Experience with relational databases (preferably Oracle) and Object/Relational frameworks. Should be able to write SQL queries, procedures, triggers and do basic performance tuning.
• Experience with C++ is a plus.
• Functional knowledge of supply chain management domain.
• Prior experience in development or consulting with an enterprise software vendor – preferably in supply chain planning or forecasting area.
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns & protocols, including SOAP, REST, JMS, EDI is a plus.
• Experience writing build & deployment scripts (e.g. Ant)
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Systems implementation skills: requirements/process analysis, conceptual and detailed design, configuration, testing, training, support
• Some experience with a scripting language such as Python or Ruby preferred
• Some experience with newer web client technologies such as AJAX, EXTJS preferred.

Education:

BE/ BTech/ ME/ MTech in Engineering, Computer Science
