What You'll Do:

At LearnTube, we’re pushing the boundaries of Generative AI to revolutionize how the world learns. As a Backend Engineer, your roles and responsibilities will include:

• Ship Micro-services – Build FastAPI services that handle ≈ 800 req/s today and will triple within a year (sub-200 ms p95).
• Power Real-Time Learning – Drive the quiz-scoring & AI-tutor engines that crunch millions of events daily.
• Design for Scale & Safety – Model data (Postgres, Mongo, Redis, SQS) and craft modular, secure back-end components from scratch.
• Deploy Globally – Roll out Dockerised services behind NGINX on AWS (EC2, S3, SQS) and GCP (GKE) via Kubernetes.
• Automate Releases – GitLab CI/CD + blue-green / canary = multiple safe prod deploys each week.
• Own Reliability – Instrument with Prometheus / Grafana, chase 99.9 % uptime, trim infra spend.
• Expose Gen-AI at Scale – Publish LLM inference & vector-search endpoints in partnership with the AI team.
• Ship Fast, Learn Fast – Work with founders, PMs, and designers in weekly ship rooms; take a feature from Figma to prod in < 2 weeks.

What makes you a great fit?

Must-Haves:

• 2+ yrs Python back-end experience (FastAPI)
• Strong with Docker & container orchestration
• Hands-on with GitLab CI/CD, AWS (EC2, S3, SQS) or GCP (GKE / Compute) in production
• SQL/NoSQL (Postgres, MongoDB) + You’ve built systems from scratch & have solid system-design fundamentals

Position Overview: We are looking for a senior developer who must be capable of building services using modern microservices architecture with NodeJS & serverless frameworks. Should have strong knowledge of ObjectOriented Concepts, and Node. Js frameworks like loopback, RDBMS, and microservice patterns. The candidate should be comfortable with application coding based on design and specifications, and also be comfortable working with JSON and RESTful services. The candidate must be a top-notch developer committed to keeping learning new things and becoming an integral part of and fostering growth within our development team.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Developing and maintaining the backend systems that support the application
• Designing and implementing APIs and Microservices architecture to handle the application workload
• Developing and optimizing queries for RDBMS (MySQL) to manage data and ensure performance and scalability
• Managing and deploying the application on AWS using Lambda, ECS and other related services
• Collaborating with front-end developers to ensure smooth communication between front-end and back-end systems and back-end systems
• Writing clean, neat and reusable code that follows coding standards and best practices.
• Participating in code reviews and ensuring that coding standards are maintained
• Troubleshooting and debugging issues that arise in production environments
• Optimizing the application for performance, scalability, and security
• Continuously learning and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in software development
• Documenting technical specifications, processes, and system design

The tech stack looks like the below (expect this to change as we scale):

1. Typescript for APIs (REST and GraphQL)
2. Kafka, Spark, and data warehouses for ML pipelines (spark on python/scala)
3. Solidity + hardhat for smart contracts (in the future, rust, go and move)
4. AWS & Terraform
5. Full nodes

You can expect to do some or all of the following:

1. Read through protocols’ whitepapers and smart contracts to derive metrics and analyze risks
2. Architect the backend for APIs, async jobs, and blockchain integration
3. Build clean, concise APIs for customer integration, along with the documentation
4. Setup, run and maintain full and archive nodes across different chains
5. Integrate with multiple partners like exchanges and custody providers
6. Fool-proof security across the stack - encryption, hashing, privacy, VPC, etc.
7. Infrastructure as code - build terraform scripts and ensure easy replication of the infra across different regions
8. Research the top DeFi protocols to uncover better insights for our customers and evaluate their risk profiles, security, and historical returns
9. Manage production deployments, logging, and monitoring

We expect you to be fairly comfortable with working with both web3 and web2 stacks. We do not expect that you have web3 experience on day 1, but you should be willing to wear multiple hats, learn things quickly and move fast.

2. We don’t look at the number of years of work experience as a criterion, but rather see what you have done in your life so far (side projects, open-source contributions, blogs, etc.). We don’t care about degrees, the institutions you went to, or the companies you worked for before. We are open to talking as long as you have good judgment, great clarity, align with our values and have a strong track record of thoughtful work
3. Understand the fundamentals of building and integrating APIs and secure systems. Bonus if you know a bit about blockchains and protocols
4. You can be strong on the backend, front-end, or can dabble everywhere. We want you to play to your strengths and will provide enough opportunities to learn and do things outside of your comfort zone

• Participate in requirements analysis and design 
• Development of Web applications and RESTful APIs using C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, .NET Framework 4.7, C#, ASP.NET MVC, LINQ, Entity Framework 6.0, EF Core
• Development of Microservices using Clean Architecture, CQRS, .NET Design Patterns, SOLID Principles and Object-oriented design & analysis (OOA & OOD)

• Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages (C#)
• Write Microsoft SQL queries and optimize both external and internal DB processes and procedures.

Ideal Background

• At least 2 years experience in back-end development in a fast-paced environment, working in Python
• Deep understanding of technologies used in web-deployed SaaS products, including Rest APIs
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers
• Sound understanding of computer science principles

Opportunity
We will share our workload as a team and we expect you to work on a broad range of tasks. Here’s are some of the things you might have to do on any given day:

• Developing APIs and endpoints for deployments of our product
• Infrastructure Development such as building databases, creating and maintaining automated jobs
• Build out the back-end to deploy and scale our product
• Build POCs for client deployments
• Integrate our products with 3rd party products/tools/services
• Document your code, write test cases, etc.

Skills

• Hands-on experience with Python (2+ years)
• Sound understanding of Postgres and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB
• Deep familiarity with UNIX, major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), DevOps
• Understanding of databases, and related tools, paradigms
• A computer science education would be great, but other engineering disciplines are ok as well

Job Description and Key Skills Required:

• Hands-on with any of the programming languages like NodeJS/ExpressJS, Python, Java, Php or any.
• Design and create efficient RESTful API endpoints for both internal and public consumption
• Strong understanding of database technologies such as MySQL, Postgress, Oracle , relational Database.
• Work closely with front end developers to understand required data model
• Comfortable deploying applications on AWS, and have a strong working knowledge of EC2, RDS and S3.
• Must understand overall system design, architecture , improve design and implement new processes.
• Strong understanding of sessions, cookies & local storage is must.
• Experience with in memory databases like redis basic, Memcache
• Independently think of solutions to complex requirements; possess exceptional logical skills.
• Analyse current products in development, including performance, scalability, diagnosis and troubleshooting.
• Work with the existing framework and evolve it by building reusable code & libraries
• Search and introduce new software related technologies, processes and tools.
