Minimum Requirements

• Shared understanding and belief in Mercari Group mission and values
• At least 3 years of experience developing native Android applications with Kotlin Developing, operating, making decisions when selecting technology, and continuous improvement of large-scale product codebases
• Ability to design and develop with performance and scalability in mind
• Extensive knowledge of object-oriented software development, networking, memory management, and software testing
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
• Familiarity with architecture frameworks like MVVM, MVP, declarative UI, or similar architectures

Preferred Requirements

• Experience using and installing Jetpack functions such as Android Architecture Components
• Understanding of UI development
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, etc
• Experience in iOS or web development
• OSS contribution experience/familiarity with the OSS community
• Customer-centric product development in E-commerce/Fintech
• Working in multi-cultural and diverse teams

We're building a game tech platform for discovering and creating engaging gaming experiences.

We need a driven, enthusiastic and passionate Android developer who is still fascinated and excited about the potential of great apps and mobile-based games. Devs who are or have been gamers will be a better fit for this role. You'll build something that sits at the intersection of TikTok, Steam and Roblox.

Semaai is an Agritech startup backed by the top International VCs. We are on a mission to uplift the livelihood and income of 55 million farmers in Indonesia through a highly trusted network of MSMEs(Toko Tanis) and farmer groups.

Agriculture in Indonesia is one of the biggest untapped opportunities in Asia as it is a $100 Billion economy but one of the least digitised sectors even though the country has the fourth-highest mobile user base in the world. We aim to be the first full-stack upstream solution for farmers and Agri SMEs with a focus on inputs, advisories, and Agri finance.

We are building the Engineering Founding Team @Semaai, and looking for members who are enthusiastic, and love a high level of autonomy.

Milestones:

• Launched our first product (Agriculture Input Products Marketplace) in August’21 in 3 weeks
• Onboarded most of the Central Java distributors on our marketplace
• 20% WOW growth in revenue

What you’ll do:

• Dedication to keeping the highest quality, maintainability, and flexibility in code by strictly adhering to best practices and guidelines
• Architect and build projects using Kotlin for Android
• Take all Android technical decisions on high level and low level design
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
• Work with other teams to solve technical problems
• Work with the founders, user research, and product design to understand users and address their needs.
• Collaborate with other developers to set best practices, and standards for development across the organization and help shape a culture of technology-first product building.

Interview Process:

After a technical screening round, we will have two rounds of technical interviews 45 mins each within 72 hours. The first technical interview will be focused on logical reasoning and CS fundamentals, and the second will be on the basics of android and logical reason. If all goes well, we extend the offer within 48 Hours.

• Driving key technology decisions with the team
• Collaborating with various stakeholders to plan for the successful rollout of projects
• Working closely with the team to develop and test the product features to ensure its in line with the organizational and end user requirements
• Maintaining code and writing automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality
• Managing project priorities, deadlines and deliverables

What you need to have:

• 6-9 years of relevant experience in Android development
• Ability to design applications around Android recommended user interfaces and design principles
• Expertise in MVC or MMVM architecture
• Knowledge of OOPs concept
• Prior experience in android jet-pack
• Knowledge of SQL
• Hands-on experience in UI designing    

- Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and how to deal with different screen sizes

- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services

- Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices

- Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning

- Strong knowledge in SQLite Database

- Experience in designing and developing custom controls for Android.

- Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object orientation design.

- Capabilities to write and execute unit test cases.

- Independent researching, solution finding, analysis and problem solving skills and capabilities.

- Should have a strong knowledge of OOPS and intermediate knowledge of front-end GUI design and development.

- Should have knowledge of Kotlin

- Should have experience in  MVC / MVVM Architecture.

- Good in Analytics and Communication

Your responsibilities include:

• Work on the LOTR (Locus on the road) app which is native app in Android in a small team of 3 engineers
• Apart from the app, there is LOTR SDK also which is in nascent stage. The role would require building up the SDK as well
• Write maintainable code with around 80% unit test coverage. Do PR (pull request) review of fellow engineers on the app
• If you are adventurous - opportunity will be provided to work on the backend API to which the LOTR app/SDK will communicate to. Backend is in all java
• We have some created some cool stuff around selective app upgrade setup. Also, our app development process is under CI/CD so you don’t have to build & release app manually.

Requirements:

• 2 - 6 year experience as Android developer in a product based company
