About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Java Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in core Java development along with exposure to modern frameworks and tools. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications while ensuring performance, security, and code quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code following best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, DevOps, etc.) to deliver high-quality software.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Stay updated with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in the Java ecosystem.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency in Core Java (Java 8/11/17).
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring / Spring Boot / Hibernate.
• Good knowledge of REST APIs, Microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
• Understanding of multithreading, collections, and design patterns.
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and build tools (Maven/Gradle).
• Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work in an Agile environment.

Good to Have:

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

Desired Skills :

● Experience with data modeling and SQL/NoSQL databases

• Execute a full software development lifecycle (SDLC)

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good knowledge of Core Java (Minimum Version 8)
• J2EE with a good understanding of Servlets and JSP
• Experience in Spring Modules – Spring IOC and AOP, Spring Boot (version 2 plus), JDBC
• Expertise in design and development of various web and enterprise – level applications using Java/J2EE technologies such as Spring, Hibernate, Rest services.
• Web Services (including SOAP, XML, XML Schema, JSON, and REST)
• Tools required: Maven,Eclipse, Github, and Swagger
• Good knowledge of SQL and Redis (NOSql)
• Ability to document requirements and specifications
• Proven work experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
• Ability to develop software in Java or any other OOPS languages
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
• Experience in developing Web Applications using at least one popular Web Framework (Spring)
• Experience with test-driven development
• Proficiency in software engineering tools

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related fields.
• Eight to Ten years of Software Engineering or Software Development experience, preferably in a related field.

Job Description

Toyota Connected is looking for a Backend Developer who will architect, design, develop and participate in testing and documentation of large-scale, distributed software applications, systems and services.
