Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges

Build reusable code and libraries for future use

Build efficient, testable, and reusable Node JS modules

End-to-end ownership of modules, including designing, development, validation, deployment

 

Specifications:

Understanding the fully synchronous behavior of NODE JS.

Familiarity with One OOPS language

Familiarity with Workers/child processes & performance tuning

Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages (MySQL, and Mongo dB)

Strong knowledge of the common NODE JS or web server exploits and their solutions

• Ability to work in an existing codebase and collaborate with a diverse team
• Experience in building enterprise-scale backend REST APIs with frameworks such as Nest.js & Express.js using an API-first paradigm
• Intimate knowledge of crafting highly performant database queries
• Hands-on experience implementing relational database structures, including tables, indexes, views, etc.
• A mindset towards building systems for the cloud and DevOps fundamentals
• Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure services is good to have. If not then willingness to learn should be there.

THE POSITION:

- 3+ years of relevant experience in designing & implementing scalable, resilient backend microservices

- Expert at any backend programming language (Python/GoLang preferrable) and has exposure to API design and scalable architecture

- Hands-on experience on a couple of RDBMS/NoSQL/In-memory DBs

- Great database modelling skills

- Ability to choose the right algorithm, data-structure, and design pattern for the given problem statement

- Knowledge of any cloud based platform like AWS or GCP and scaling on the go

- Understanding of various application security principles and experience with building applications secure by design

Civil Maps’ mission is to make it possible for fully autonomous vehicles (SAE Levels 4-5) to drive anywhere smoothly and safely. Through artificial intelligence and vehicle-based local processing, Civil Maps converts sensor data into meaningful map information built specifically to direct fully autonomous vehicles. The company will use the seed investment to accelerate product development and deployment with a number of leading automotive companies and technology partners. Civil Maps’ artificial intelligence software aggregates raw 3D data from LiDAR (high-resolution laser imaging), camera and other sensors onboard autonomous vehicles and organizes the information into machine-readable maps. Civil Maps is looking for a developer to grow its backend infrastructure. You will be interacting with a completely custom-made distributed computing framework, handling terabytes and petabytes of machine vision data, and millions of requests from robotic platforms. In our interdisciplinary teams, you will get acquainted with the many facets of 3D map creation: data collection, geospatial registration, feature extraction, auditing.
