Technical lead (ROR)

Experience and Required Skill Sets: 

1      Solid experience in software design and development using Microsoft ASP.NET framework, C#, Visual Studio, and in writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code

2      5+ years of experience in WCF, WPF, VB.NET, SQL Server, JQuery, Angular 10 and above.

3      5+ years of experience in developing highly scalable REST/Web APIs

4      5+ years of experience in developing highly efficient SQL/NoSQL Queries

5      5+ years of experience in Relational and Document databases

6      Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and possess strong fundamental design principles for building a scalable application.

7      Experience in using the MVC framework, working knowledge in APIs, and Service Oriented Architecture

8      Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and possess strong fundamental design principles for building a scalable application.

9      Experience in Angular version 10 and above is required 

10   Expert in SQL programming & Database Design (Stored procedure, Function, Trigger, Constraints, Replication) 

11   Strong ability in HTML and JavaScript (AJAX, DOM)

12   Development experience with data integration technologies including REST, SOAP, JSON, XML

13   Expertise in programming and usage of any unit testing framework. Expertise in integration testing and continuous integration.

14   Experience working in a DevOps environment will be an added advantage.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Team Leadership & People Management • Lead, mentor, and manage the entire development team, including interns, junior developers, and senior engineers. • Conduct regular training sessions, knowledge-sharing meetings, and capability-building workshops. • Identify skill gaps and create growth plans for team members. • Manage performance reviews, provide feedback, and support career progression. • Create a culture of ownership, accountability, and high performance. Project & Delivery Management • Own the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from planning to deployment. • Break down product requirements into sprint tasks and assign responsibilities. • Define and manage project deadlines, delivery milestones, and development roadmaps with the team. • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality features aligned with product goals. • Work closely with the CEO for project planning, updates, and escalations. • Ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions. Technical Leadership • Provide architectural direction for scalable, secure, multi-tenant, multi-region systems. • Review code, ensure adherence to coding standards, and drive continuous improvements. • Evaluate and implement new technologies to keep the product stack modern and efficient. • Ensure best practices in security, performance, documentation, and DevOps pipelines. • Lead R&D initiatives for new features, tools, or tech stacks. Process & Quality Ownership • Implement and refine engineering processes, coding guidelines, and development workflows. • Ensure strict adherence to SDLC, secure development practices, and code review processes. • Introduce automation where possible (CI/CD, testing, deployment flows). • Drive continuous improvement in team productivity and software quality. • Conduct root-cause analysis and lead improvements to reduce bugs and downtime. Communication & Reporting • Act as the primary communication bridge between the CEO and development team. • Provide weekly project reports, progress updates, risk assessments, and performance insights. • Maintain transparency and clarity in project communication across the organization. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Work directly with the CEO, Product leadership, and other department heads. • Align technical decisions with business objectives and customer needs. • Support SOC, support teams, and clients for escalations when required. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the software development function, including developers, technical leads, architects, and QA engineers.
• Define and execute the software development roadmap in alignment with the company's business strategy and growth objectives.
• Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and high-performance software applications.
• Lead the development and enhancement of fintech platforms, financial applications, payment solutions, and digital financial products, as applicable.
• Drive API development, third-party integrations, banking integrations, payment gateway integrations, and other financial technology integrations.
• Establish software architecture standards, coding practices, development methodologies, and engineering best practices.
• Ensure application security, data protection, system reliability, scalability, and performance across software platforms.
• Drive the adoption of modern technologies, cloud-based solutions, DevOps practices, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Oversee software development life cycles, sprint planning, release management, quality assurance, and production support.
• Establish engineering KPIs, monitor team performance, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.
• Collaborate with Product, Business, Compliance, Information Security, and Operations teams to translate business requirements into effective technology solutions.
• Ensure software development processes adhere to applicable regulatory requirements, security standards, internal policies, and IT governance practices.
• Manage technology budgets, external development partners, software vendors, and resource allocation.
• Mentor and develop engineering leaders, build a high-performing technology team, and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities for process optimization, technical debt reduction, and improvement in software delivery efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 15–20+ years of experience in software development, engineering, and technology delivery, with approximately 20 years preferred.
• Significant experience in leading software development teams and managing large-scale application development initiatives.
• Strong expertise in software architecture, system design, API development, databases, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Experience with modern programming languages, frameworks, cloud platforms, DevOps, CI/CD, and software engineering tools.
• Proven experience in developing scalable, secure, and high-availability applications.
• Experience in fintech, banking, payments, digital lending, financial services, or related technology domains is preferred.
• Understanding of financial data security, application security, regulatory compliance, and secure software development practices.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, engineering teams, delivery timelines, and technology priorities.
• Excellent leadership, strategic planning, analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
