THE POSITION:

- 3+ years of relevant experience in designing & implementing scalable, resilient backend microservices

- Expert at any backend programming language (Python/GoLang preferrable) and has exposure to API design and scalable architecture

- Hands-on experience on a couple of RDBMS/NoSQL/In-memory DBs

- Great database modelling skills

- Ability to choose the right algorithm, data-structure, and design pattern for the given problem statement

- Knowledge of any cloud based platform like AWS or GCP and scaling on the go

- Understanding of various application security principles and experience with building applications secure by design

• Work with product owners, architects, developers, testers, and other stakeholders in the client's organization and in the company to build and maintain software solutions
• Get specifications/wireframes/ mock-ups and translate them into scalable, high-performance, robust web apps!
• Responsible to write and maintain clean, well-written code, as per the best practices.
• Very comfortable with daily stand-up with clients, update daily work progress via Project Management systems, voice/video calls, online collaboration using screen-sharing tools.
• Exposure/experience in agile development practices

Desired Qualification, Skills, and Experience

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech.

Mandatory Skills:

• Expert level skills in OOPS concepts
• Excellent in Ruby, metaprogramming.
• Excellent knowledge of Rails 4.x+
• Experience in using Rails Engine.
• Full-stack web development expertise (HTML, Javascript, CSS/Less, React, Redux)
• Good experience with active accounts on Git, Github/Bitbucket, or similar SCM tools.
• Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills [Client side, Server side, Database]
• Knowledge and skills in static code analysis and performance management tools [Client side, Server side, Database]
• Databases: Expert level skills in one or more of MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Exposure to Release, Build Management, Deployment steps, and methodologies.

Technical Overview

Product Overview
 You will be contributing to products concerning both customers and partner drivers.
 Product sectors include:
o Growth: You’ll build tools to help boost user growth on the platform including our industry
best driver on-boarding, training and certification system, referral system, and lead
management models.
o Lifecycle Management:  Build tools to help users engage with the platform better, which
includes rewards and recognition module, subscription service, account management tools,
partner and customer wallets and payout modules, and churn detection systems among
others.
o Transaction Experience: You’ll help deliver the most delightful booking experience to our
customers and drivers. As part of this team, you’ll be responsible for our core booking
system, pricing and payment systems, location tracking and filtering services, fraud
prevention systems, and in-app ticketing and support among others.
o Fulfilment: As part of the fulfilment team, you’ll work on systems which ensure high degree
of ride fulfilment on the platform. Tools including allocation methodologies and system,
dynamic pricing, dynamic partner routing, and partner re-activation tools among others.
o Enterprise Solutions: You’ll help Porter’s enterprise customers achieve delivery excellence.
You’ll build tools for contract management, fleet management, fleet and route optimisation
tools, alerting and monitoring tools, and analytics suite among others.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include: 1. Developing high-performance responsive web pages using HTML, CSS, and React 2. Converting HTML pages and widgets from design documents 3. Integrating of APIs developed by back-end developers with client-side logic 4. Building reusable code and libraries 5. Handling data migration, transformation, outputting and scripting 6. Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
