React.js Developer

About the Role

We're seeking a talented Frontend Developer to join our engineering team. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining high-quality web applications, collaborating with designers and backend developers to create seamless user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Development & Implementation

• Build responsive, performant web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or Angular)
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards
• Implement pixel-perfect UI designs from mockups and wireframes
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability across devices and browsers
• Integrate RESTful APIs and work with backend teams to define API requirements

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate designs into functional interfaces
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Collaborate with backend developers to ensure seamless integration between frontend and backend systems
• Contribute to technical discussions and help make architectural decisions

Quality & Maintenance

• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality
• Debug and troubleshoot issues across different browsers and devices
• Stay current with emerging frontend technologies and best practices
• Improve existing codebases through refactoring and optimization

Required Qualifications

• 2-5 years of professional experience in frontend development
• Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
• Solid experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework (React, Vue, Angular)
• Understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Familiarity with CSS preprocessors (Sass, Less) or CSS-in-JS solutions
• Knowledge of modern build tools and package managers (Webpack, Vite, npm/yarn)
• Understanding of web performance optimization techniques
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with TypeScript
• Knowledge of state management libraries (Redux, Vuex, Zustand)
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress)
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with design systems and component libraries
• Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Portfolio or GitHub profile showcasing relevant projects

As a Software Engineer - Frontend you’ll be part of the Frontend team, implementing beautiful web designs made by our designers to keep both our site and the internal web-based tools we use fresh and up to date on top of working on new projects alongside this, there is always something new and interesting to work on. 

Your Team Mates

The frontend team consists of both our frontend developers and designers, we work closely with all parts of the business to create tools that vary across the whole company, from the publishing team to create a portal for people to submit games, the marketing team on things like our website, all the way to our internal teams for things like administration and analytics.

What Does The Job Actually Involve?

• Implementing designs for our website/web tools created by our design team

• Create and update interactive interfaces used throughout the company

Your Hard Skills

• Minimum 2 years browser-based programming experience

• A proven track record of programming high quality and innovative web pages using Javascript, HTML5 & CSS3 and relevant frameworks (ideally ReactJS but could also be others e.g. AngularJS, NodeJS, Handlebars, jquery, gulp)

• An excellent working knowledge of various programming languages, databases and scripting tools including at least one of bash, MySQL, CouchBase, Python, Java, C#, JSP, PHP

• A creative mindset motivated by challenges and constantly striving for the best

• Interest in mobile games

We are looking for a React Native developer interested in building performant mobile apps on both the iOS and Android platforms. You will be responsible for architecting and building these applications, as well as coordinating with the teams responsible for other layers of the product infrastructure. Building a product is a highly collaborative effort, and as such, a strong team player with a commitment to perfection is required.

• Build pixel-perfect, buttery smooth UIs across both mobile platforms.
• Leverage native APIs for deep integrations with both platforms.
• Diagnose and fix bugs and performance bottlenecks for performance that feels native.
• Reach out to the open source community to encourage and help implement mission-critical software fixes—React Native moves fast and often breaks things.
• Maintain code and write automated tests to ensure the product is of the highest quality.
• Transition existing React web apps to React Native.

• Architect, Design, implement, and deploy solutions that are reliable and perform at scale in multi-tenant environment.
• Collaborate with UX design group and convert the design to actual UI components and pages to delight users of our cloud platform
• Evaluate technology and make choice based on performance, scalability, security and future expansion.
• Work with different stakeholders within and outside the team in a highly collaborative environment.
• Working with rapid and innovative development methodologies like: Kanban, Continuous Integration and Daily deployments
• Engage with Product Management and Business to create Product roadmap, own technical backlog and roadmap for technology supremacy.

• Strong experience in Information Architecture and UI Design experience in delivering concepts, wire frames, prototypes, and compelling visual experiences.

• Expert understanding of strong Standards Based HTML Development as also strong JavaScript and JS libraries / UI Frameworks like Prototype.js, DHTMLX, ExtJS, JQuery (one Framework at the least is a must)
• Strong experience in Vue.JS/Backbone.JS or similar.
