Backend Engineer Role

Responsibilities (not exhaustive)

• Design, write, and deliver highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant systems with minimal guidance.
• Participate in code and design reviews to maintain high development standards.
• Collaborate with product management to define and execute the feature roadmap.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and extensible design.
• Proactively manage stakeholder communication regarding deliverables, risks, changes, and dependencies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Mobile, DevOps, Data, UX, QA, etc.) on planning and execution.

The Ideal Candidate

Education

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial software development within large distributed systems.

Experience

• Hands-on experience in designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications on one or more of the following: Golang, Ruby, Python, .Net Core, or Java for large-scale applications.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux as a production environment.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and asynchronous architectures.
• Expert in at least one language: Golang, Python, Ruby, Java, C, C++.
• Proficient in OOP, including design patterns.
• Ability to design and implement low-latency RESTful services.
• Proven experience in building backend services for high-volume traffic.
• Strong understanding of system performance and scaling.
• Excellent communication, analytical skills, and design abilities.
• Experience with data modeling in both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Able to continuously refactor applications for high-quality design.
• Skilled in planning, prioritizing, estimating, and executing releases predictably.

Compensation

• Total Salary: Rs. 10 - 22 lakhs per annum (based on prior experience and skills)
• Equity will be awarded after 12 months, based on the impact created. We prefer that you hold equity in the company.

Hiring Process

We have 4 steps in total. We will hire you if you pass each round. All the steps except the assignment will be virtual. We expect you to have a stable internet connection and turn on the video during the interview.

• Assignment - If you match the job requirements, we will send you an assignment to complete. This should not take you more than an hour to complete.
• Technical Interviews - There will be two sets of technical interviews. Questions in the first round will evaluate your skill set, and experience and will also include coding. The second round will be focused on system designing and project planning skills.
• CEO Interview - This will be technical as well as general questions.
• Culture Fit Round - A member from a non-technical team will conduct this round. This is also a good opportunity to clarify your doubts about us and our culture.

Responsibilities:

Within 1 month:

• Rapidly onboard and gain a comprehensive understanding of our existing product through training sessions.
• Set up the development environment and successfully deploy your initial code to production.
• Conduct introductory calls with all members of the AdNabu team to foster strong team relationships.

Within 3 months:

• Begin development on your first service with guidance and support from the team.
• Write your first set of unit test cases and establish functional testing workflows.
• Conduct code reviews for your peers.
• Actively participate in bug bashes to gain a thorough understanding of new features under development.

Within 6 months:

• Successfully launch two to three services to production.
• Make architectural and infrastructure decisions with a good impact on the overall product.
• Demonstrate proficiency in navigating our technology stack and infrastructure.
• Assume responsibility for planning, scoping, designing, and implementing new services.

Within 12 months:

• Launch a minimum of 3 to 4 core services to production and take ownership of scaling initiatives.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring processes, contributing to team growth and cultural development.
• Collaborate with leadership across engineering, product, marketing, and customer success to define priorities and establish delivery goals.

Requirements:

• Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, complexity analysis, databases, networking, and distributed systems.
• 2-6 years of experience in product development, specializing in Python and MVC-based web frameworks.
• Proficient with Linux systems, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in designing scalable architectures for data-intensive applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Capable of proposing ideas and solutions, actively seeking and incorporating feedback from the team.
• Previous experience in a product-based company or startup is a bonus.

About the Position:

The Professional Services Consultant will be a technical consultant accountable for gathering customer requirements, delivering best practice, and executing customer implementation projects while driving new revenue through identifying new opportunities and user adoption. The position also requires providing technical guidance and sharing best practices with the team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute the technical implementation of projects to ensure successful customer deployment and adoption of Egnyte solutions
• Act as liaison between customers and internal teams such as Engineering, Product Management and Technical Support to solve technical problems and propose new feature development
• Engage multiple constituents at the customer organization – Business users and IT
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects with strict deadlines
• Communicate professionally and succinctly and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

Qualifications:

• Strong software programming skills that cover four or more of the following areas:

• Create Technical Design for AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, NLP, NLU, NLG projects and implement the same in production.
• Solid understanding and experience of deep learning architectures and algorithms
• Working experience with AWS, most importantly AWS SageMaker, Aurora or MongoDB, Analytics and reporting.

JOB SUMMARY

     THE ROLE IN SUMMARY

Omnicom Media Group (OMG) has an immediate opening for a highly motivated and talented backend web application developer, specializing in AWS cloud technologies. In this position you will be joining an in-house development team whose primary responsibility is developing new features and functionality for multiple existing web applications and day to day troubleshooting and issue resolution. The ideal candidate will possess excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting skills and have proven experience using popular AWS services commonly used to build serverless web application architectures. Candidates are expected to have strong knowledge of AWS API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB and Python programming. Familiarity with Cloud infrastructure as code frameworks, such as Serverless Framework, Terraform or CloudFormation, etc. is also required. Excellent English communication skills are a must as you will be a part of a team working alongside our primary development team in addition to several business analysis and project managers. 5+ years of prior backend and Cloud web application and software development experience required.

KEY WORKING PRINCIPLES

• Passionate about modern web application architecture and programming. Hands on backend developer.
