Python Developer

Key deliverables for the Backend Engineer would be to work on meaningful, large-scale initiatives with a focus on autonomy to build features, be a part of the core team, and give direction to the product.

What you'll do

• You will join a growing team of experienced developers building a cross-platform application, backend services and open platform
• You will work closely with our product team, teaming up in small cross-functional teams to bring features from idea to prototype to final implementation
• You will collaborate with your peers to define architecture, quality standards, and best practices and participate in code reviews, design reviews, architecture discussions.

We would love to hear from you if

• You have 1+ years of experience as a software engineer at a SaaS or technology company, including familiarity with the different pieces of technology involved in building modern web applications
• You have a working knowledge of algorithms and data structures with space and memory complexities
• You are proficient in backend development and technologies. You should understand concepts of multithreading, I/O, messaging, instrumentation, and their implementation.
• You have knowledge of Messaging Queues (Kafka/RabitMq/SQS), Dynamodb, Elastic Search, Redis/Memcache/Elasticache
• You have experience in building RESTful APIs, Spring framework, and Mysql/RDS
• You deal well with constant change and high levels of ambiguity (we are a startup)

• Experience with source control systems (prefer Github)
• Strive to craft clean, reliable, and highly maintainable code
• Experience with test-driven development and pair programming
• To you, technologies and programming languages are about tradeoffs. You may be opinionated, but you're not ideological and can learn new technologies as you go

• Designing, implementing and maintaining Java-based applications

• Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle

Looking to hire a single backend engineer who will become a part of the core team, with the track to become a part of the leadership at our company.

Candidate should have worked in startups, possess strong programming skills in Python, displays a sense of ownership and is highly energetic and eager to learn state-of-the-art tech and ML.

A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.

2022 or later year pass outs - please apply only if you have relevant full-time and at least 2 prior internships experience

Representative (not exhaustive) responsibilities:

• Assess the current design and infrastructure of the backend server, and continuously implement enhancements to make the systems more robust, reliable and responsive
• Design, implement, test, and deploy APIs with Python on Linux servers
• Enhance back-end functionality and integrate with the front end to deliver a fully functional product
• Implement and set up automated tests to periodically test backend infrastructure for reliability, security and performance
• Design new data pipelines to enable the production deployment of new models
• Mentor junior employees and interns in the company
• Additionally, interest and ability to contribute to the continuous enhancement of our state-of-the-art NLP model pipeline and Inferencing engine is a big plus
• Be ready to roll up your sleeves and participate in customer calls, understand our ICP well, do research around product features, etc.

As a member of the development group, you will be primarily responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the product:  

• Help define and create full stack architecture and deployment using React- Django-AWS in an agile environment with lots of ownership and active mentoring. 
• Work with the Product and Design teams to build new features to solve business problems and fill business needs 

• Participate in code reviews to create robust and maintainable code 
• Work in an agile environment where quick iterations and good feedback are a way of life 
• Interact with other stakeholders for requirement, design discussions and for adoption of new features 
• Communicate and coordinate with our support and professional services teams to solve customer issues. 
• Help scale our platform as we expand our product across various markets and verticals globally.
