Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain scalable backend systems (APIs, Pipelines and AI applications)
• Work with other team members (Backend, ML, Data Engineers, Product & Design) to ship features quickly
• Learn how to debug & resolve production issues to ensure system uptime
• Participate in architectural & system design discussions
• Explore new technologies and frameworks & come up with suggestions to improve existing systems

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in one or more of: Python, Go, TypeScript or similar
• Strong understanding of software development principles (OOPS, REST APIs, etc. ) and tooling such Git
• Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL)
• A deep sense of curiosity and a knack for experimentation with AI applications
• You're proactive and love getting things done regardless of external factors
• Strong communication skills and a very good eye for detail

Must Have

• Excellent coding skills with strong problem-solving abilities
• Meaningful contributions to open-source projects
• Strong proof of building and deep focus. For example
• Active participation in multiple hackathons, with top-3 finishes or notable wins
• At-least 1 self-driven portfolio project that has been maintained over 4 months. Github repos with frequent commits showing continuous progress would be great.

• Proficient knowledge of Django and Django REST framework 
• Experience and good understanding of Redis
• Good knowledge and understanding of PostgreSQL or other relational databases 
• Proficient in NoSQL document databases especially MongoDB. 
• Understanding of threading and multiprocessing in Python, and multi-process architecture 
• Good-enough understanding of version control systems like Git or Mercurial 
• Strong unit-test and debugging skills 
• Knowledge of container technologies (specially Docker) and orchestration systems is a plus 
• Strong understanding of various Python Libraries, APIs, and toolkits
• Excellent understanding of MVC and OOP
• Rapid prototyping skills for getting product feedback 
• Experience with Agile and SCRUM methodology

 What Makes You a Great Fit

 ● 5 years of proven work experience as a Backend Python Engineer

 ● Understanding of software engineering fundamentals OOPS, SOLID, etc.)

 ● Hands-on experience with Python libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn,

 Lang chain/LLamaIndex etc.

 ● Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, Keras, being

 proficient in Python

 ● Hands-on Experience with frameworks such as Django or FastAPI or Flask

 ● Hands-on experience with MySQL, MongoDB, Redis and BigQuery (or equivalents)

 ● Extensive experience integrating with or creating REST APIs

 ● Experience with creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines- we use GitHub Actions.

 ● Experience with event-driven architectures like Kafka, RabbitMq or equivalents.

 ● Knowledge about:

 o LLMs

 o Vector stores/databases

 o PromptEngineering

 o Embeddings and their implementations

 ● Somehands-onexperience in implementations of the above ML/AI will be preferred

 ● Experience with GCP/AWS services.

As a senior software engineer, you will work on our python based ORM and applications that scales to handle millions of transactions every hour. This is mission critical software and your primary focus will be building robust and scalable solutions that are easy to maintain.

In this role, you will be collaborating closely with the rest of the team working on different layers of infrastructure in an international environment. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product are important.

What You’ll Do:

• Own definition and implementation of API interfaces (REST and GraphQL). We take pride in our 100% open API with over 600 endpoints.
• Implement simple solutions to complex business logic that enables our merchants to manage financials, orders and shipments across millions of transactions.
• Build reusable components and packages for future use.
• Translate specs and user stories into reviewable, test covered patches.
• Peer review code and refactor existing code.
• Integrate with our eCommerce partners (Shopify, BigCommerce, Amazon), shipping partners (UPS, USPS, FedEx, DHL) and EDI.
• Manage Kubernetes and Docker based global deployment of our infrastructure.

Requirements
We’re Looking for Someone With:

• Experience working with ORMs like SQLAlchemy or Django (2-3 years)
• Experience with SQL and databases (Postgres preferred)
• Experience in developing large server side applications and microservices
• Ability to create high quality code
• Experience with python testing tools (pytest) and test automation
• Familiarity with code versioning tools like GIT
• Strong sense of ownership and leadership quality
• Experienced in the tools of our web stack- Python, Celery, Postgres, Redis, RabbitMQ

Nice to Haves:

• Prior experience at a growth stage Internet/Software company
• Experience with ReactJS, Google Cloud, Heroku
• Cloud deployment and scaling experience

Job Description

• Design & implement backend APIs 
• Mentor junior developers technically.
• Actively work to reduce tech debt in the backend
• Work towards more stability & scalability of the backend
• Tech stack - Java, AWS, Aurora etc. 

Eligibility

• 4-8 years of product company experience
• OOP implementation experience. Programming language does not matter. We use Java internally but have hired folks from non Java background.
• Hands on experience in SQL, Dynamo DB, Postgres etc preferred. 
• Prior experience building REST APIs
• Advanced understanding of AWS stack
• Prior knowledge of solving problems at scale.

• The developer should be well conversant with principles of clean codeand refactoring practices.
• The developer should have experience writing unit and integration tests.
• The developer should be conversant with agile development practices.
• Prior experience in Python is a good to have but the developer should be willing to do development in Python.
• The developer is expected to collaborate with developers from other teams as well as business stakeholders in India and in US to design and develop business requirements.
