Role Description

We are looking for a passionate Senior Backend Developer.  You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs using Python.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based applications and APIs.
• Build and optimize backend systems using FastAPI/Django/Flask.
• Work with PostgreSQL/MySQL databases, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs (GraphQL experience is a plus).
• Collaborate using Git-based version control.
• Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Ensure best practices in performance optimization, testing, and security.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2– 5 years of hands-on Python development experience.
• Experience in Fintech projects is an advantage
• Proven experience in FastAPI and REST API development.
• Strong database skills with PostgreSQL (preferred) and MySQL.
• Practical exposure to API integrations and third-party services.
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications in production.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services.

• Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Applications, Mathematics, Statistics or related technical field or equivalent practical experience. Relevant experience of at least 3 years in lieu of above if from a different stream of education.

• Well-versed in and 5+ years of hands-on demonstrable experience with:
  ▪ Object Oriented Modeling, Design, & Programming
  ▪ Microservices Architecture, API Design, & Implementation
  ▪ Relational, Document, & Graph Data Modeling, Design, & Implementation

• Well-versed in and hands-on demonstrable experience with:
  ▪ Stream & Batch Big Data Pipeline Processing
  ▪ Distributed Cloud Native Computing
  ▪ Serverless Computing & Cloud Functions

• 5+ years of hands-on development experience in Java programming.

• 3+ years of hands-on development experience in one or more libraries & frameworks such as Spring Boot, Apache Camel, Akka, etc.;
  extra points if you can demonstrate your knowledge with working examples.
  2+ years of hands-on development experience in one or more Relational and NoSQL datastores such as Amazon S3, Amazon DocumentDB, Amazon Elasticsearch Service, Amazon Aurora, AWS DynamoDB, Amazon Athena, etc.

• 2+ years of hands-on development experience in one or more technologies such as Amazon Simple Queue Service, Amazon Kinesis, Apache Kafka, AWS Lambda, AWS Batch, AWS Glue, AWS Step Functions, Amazon API Gateway, etc.

• 2+ years of hands-on development experience in one or more technologies such as AWS Developer Tools, AWS Management & Governance, AWS Networking and Content Delivery, AWS Security, Identity, and Compliance, etc.

• Well-versed in Virtualization & Containerization; must demonstrate experience in technologies such as Kubernetes, Istio, Docker, OpenShift, Anthos, Oracle VirtualBox, Vagrant, etc.

• Well-versed with demonstrable working experience with API Management, API Gateway, Service Mesh, Identity & Access Management, Data Protection & Encryption.

• Hands-on experience with demonstrable working experience with DevOps tools and platforms viz., Jira, GIT, Jenkins, Code Quality & Security Plugins, Maven, Artifactory, Terraform, Ansible/Chef/Puppet, Spinnaker, etc.

• Well-versed with Storage, Networks and Storage Networking basics which will enable you to work in a Cloud environment.

Requirements:

• 2+ years experience in a software development/consulting role, preferably in comprehensive eBusiness and Supply Chain Solutions
• 2+ years experience in Software Analysis, Design, and Development using J2EE technology stacks (Core Java, JSP, XML, Hibernate & Java scripts) and Oracle database (PL/SQL)
• 2+ years experience with the configuration and Installation of J2EE servers like Web logic, Web Sphere, and Oracle
• 2+ years experience with integration technology (knowledge of EAI and B2B tools)
• 2+ years working knowledge of UNIX system (Solaris and Linux)
• Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
• Excellent interpersonal & planning skills and cross-group coordination at all levels
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent
• Willing to travel when needed.

Preferred (Optional) Skills:

• Supply-chain domain experience implementing and integrating Global Trade Management solutions
• Experience in the integration, deployment or support of an ERP, SCM, or similar systems from SA

Must Have

• 1+ to 6 year’s development experience in Java/J2EE Development.
• 1+ years’ experience in Spring, Hibernate.
• 1+ years’ experience in developing REST API’s
• 1+ years’ experience in developing Spring boot applications.
• Hands-On experience in Unit testing.
• Hands On experience in MVC frameworks –AngularJS/Angular7/8
• Understanding of Micro services.
• Understanding of Agile Methodologies.
• Working experience with DB technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Aptitude for innovation, working independently and thinking ‘outside of the box’.

• Good academic qualifications
• Experience in developing web applications using Java, Spring, Hibernate, DWR, JSP
• Knowledge in Oracle Database concepts
• Sound knowledge in the following is a must
