Must-Haves:

• At least 1 year of experience in backend development. This role is best suited for someone looking to transition from a mid level to a senior position with proven backend development experience.
• Mandatory in-office work experience.
• Ability to work from our Mumbai location.
• Willingness to travel abroad to client locations for the project duration as needed.

Responsibilities

• Product Thinking: Collaborate with internal & external stakeholders during grooming and workshops to deeply understand the clientʼs domain, challenges and objectives. • Technical Implementation: Collaborate closely with the Lead Backend Engineer in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and secure backend systems.
• Project Foundations: Assist in setting up the initial scaffolding and framework for projects to ensure a solid foundation for development.
• Complex Module Development: Take ownership of coding complex modules while ensuring quality and alignment with overall architecture.
• Research & Problem-Solving: Proactively research and figure out solutions from documentation, developer communities, and other resources to overcome technical challenges.
• Code Quality & Reviews: Participate actively in code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality, performance, and security.
• Learning & Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest tools, technologies, and best practices, and bring those into day-to-day work when relevant.
• Team Camaraderie & Mentorship: Maintain strong camaraderie with the backend team and actively mentor junior and mid-level engineers to help them grow and excel in their roles.

Skills

• Strong proficiency in backend development using Node.js with Express and NestJS frameworks.

• Proficient in API design and development, including RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with real-time communication using WebSockets.
• Solid understanding of cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and experience in cloud-native development.
• Ability to integrate with third-party services and platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Mandatory: Previous experience working from the office.
• Preferred: Experience working on on-site deployments at international client locations.

• Designing and Developing web applications using Laravel 7 / 8
• Closely working front-end and back-end developers on projects.
• Hands on experience with handing MySQL queries
• Excellent logical and analytics skill
• Experience on handling and developing API end points
• Experience with Payment Gateway integrations and implementations
• Knowledge on any Frontend Framework - Bootstrap / Foundation / Backbone (Secondary skills, added advantage)

• Follow standard coding structure with Security first approach to avoid vulnerabilities such as SQL Injection and XSS
• Sound knowledge on integrating multiple payment gateway

• Work with business analysts to estimate and design effective, scalable and maintainable solutions that meet business initiatives and objectives
• Develop and unit test software that meets business requirements and technical design
• Troubleshoot pre- and post-production implementations
• Propose new ideas when there is strong business value and stay up to date on the latest technology trends and techniques

Critical Skills & Experiences:

• At least 5+ years of experience developing in Java technologies with equivalent experience in systems analysis, OO design, OO programming and debugging skills
• At least 5 years of experience in Java Spring Boot Framework development
• 2 years of experience in any Cloud platform, preferably AWS.
• At least 3 years of web services and relational database experience (preferably Mysql)
• At least a year of Elastic search experience
• Experience developing RESTful web services (preferably micro services)
• Experience with UNIX/Linux command line and shell scripting
• Experience working in cross-functional Agile/Scrum teams
• Any level of experience with JIRA or any other issue tracking technology
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders
• Experience with Java application profiling and profiling tools
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Drive performance to accomplish team goals in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree or the above equivalent skills and years of experience
