Job Title: Lead Software Engineer

Purpose of the Role

The incumbent will be responsible for designing and developing robust software solutions for products in the domains of Warehouse Automation, Industrial Automation, Robotics, and IoT. The role includes defining software architecture, ensuring scalability and performance, and mentoring the development team to drive technical excellence and innovation.

Technical Skills Required

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying high-volume, scalable applications.
• Expertise in distributed systems, microservices, and central system architectures.
• Programming & Frameworks: Proficiency in Java 17+.
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, Kubernetes, and RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of JPA, MS SQL, and database modelling/design.
• Hands-on experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure for cloud architecture.
• Familiarity with virtualization and containerization technologies.
• Strong skills in data modelling and database design.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices.
• Tech stack: Java, MSSQL, MySQL, Spring Boot, Redis, Data Structures, Linux, basics of Kubernetes.

Job Responsibilities

• Understand requirements and define database and application structure under guidance of Software Architect.
• Write high-quality, scalable, and efficient code.
• Prepare Functional Requirement Documents (FRD) based on inputs from BA team.
• Guide junior and mid-level developers and provide technical support.
• Collaborate to identify and fix technical issues in UAT/Production.
• Work closely to meet project deadlines.
• Take ownership of product implementations at customer sites.
• Hands-on development for assigned modules/products.
• Handle application performance in production.
• Work with customers to understand automation requirements.
• Review and merge code changes from the team.
• Conduct sprint meetings, demos, and resolve development roadblocks.
• Optimize code for performance and efficiency.

• Excellent knowledge of working with PHP Symfony / Laravel / CodeIgniter
• Must possess a strong understanding of Object-Oriented technology
• Knowledge of any PHP CMS or Framework will be a plus – Laravel / Symfony / CodeIgniter, Zend Framework
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
• Work primarily with PHP, object-oriented design, dynamic content retrieval, Unit testing techniques, debugging techniques, HTTP, MySQL and Apache

• Design and develop innovative, company impacting products and services to support infrastructure operations
• Design, develop and implement object-oriented PHP applications from prototype through implementation
• Integrate open source and commercial enterprise applications into an exposed API and web-based portal
• Create highly scalable and performant REST/SOAP web services
• Keep focus on end users and goals all through the development process
• Work closely with product management and stakeholders to ensure applications meet needs and expectations
• Adhere to the highest levels of technical discipline and excellence to set a standard for the larger development organization

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or comparable extra work experience
• Solid experience with SQL and relation databases
• Solid experience with Object Oriented Design and Development
• Experience Developing API Interfaces
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git

Beneficial Skills

• Experience with non-relational data stores such as ZooKeeper or Memcache

Responsibilities of the role 

• Develop Web/App based solutions in PHP and PHP based frameworks (CodeIgniter/Laravel) having a Service Oriented Architecture (REST/SOAP) 
• Work on integration of 3rd Party libraries as required by the product 
• Unit-testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability 

• Ensure the quality of the end product while adhering to quality norms 
• Creating Technical documentation wherever applicable 
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features 
• Take part in requirement understanding and contribute to solution of the requirement 

What you will need  

• Should have a sound experience in PHP, MVC Frameworks, Code Igniter. 
• Strong grasp in web development open source: CSS, HTML5, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX & JSON 
• Working knowledge of MySQL databases 

• Good knowledge of relational databases, version control tools and of developing web 
• Knowledge of Angular JS, Node JS will be considered as an added advantage 

• 3+ years of SDE work experience from Product based companies
• Experience in Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, Kafka, Hbase, AWS
