About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Python Developer Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on building and maintaining data-intensive backend systems, handling large-scale datasets, and exposing insights through robust, scalable APIs.

You will work closely with operational and transactional data, design efficient data pipelines, and build backend services that power analytics, reports, and ERP workflows. The ideal candidate is strong in Python, excellent with data and databases, and capable of owning features end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, inconsistencies, and operational insights.
• Design, build, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Perform advanced data manipulation and aggregation using Pandas, NumPy, and SQL.
• Design and optimize data pipelines for analytics, reporting, and downstream systems.
• Implement automated data quality checks, validations, and monitoring scripts.
• Work closely with product, application, and business teams to translate raw data into clear, actionable outputs.
• Optimize query performance across relational and analytical databases.
• Expose processed data and insights via APIs or dashboards for consumption by web or ERP applications.
• Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Write clear documentation for APIs, data flows, and processing logic.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 4–8 years of strong, hands-on experience with Python in production systems.
• Excellent experience with data handling, processing, and large datasets.
• Strong experience building APIs using FastAPI (or similar frameworks).
• Deep expertise in Pandas, NumPy, and SQL.
• Solid experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience working with analytical or reporting workloads.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, joins, aggregations, and performance tuning.
• Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

Good to Have

• Experience with ClickHouse, Databricks, or Elasticsearch.
• Exposure to data engineering concepts such as ETL/ELT, batch processing, and data pipelines.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster).
• Familiarity with data visualization libraries (Plotly, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
• Experience with AWS services (S3, EC2, RDS, Lambda).
• Prior experience integrating data services into ERP or business applications.

Technical skills required:

Skills: Java 8 and above, Rest Web services, MySQL.

Strong background in Core Java and good knowledge of collection Framework.

Proficient in developing high-performance, less memory-intensive micro-services applications using the Java framework.

Should have deep knowledge of Micro-service development.

Task:

• Develop, record, and maintain cutting-edge web-based PHP applications.
• Build innovative, state-of-the-art applications and collaborate with the User Experience (UX) team
• Ensure HTML, CSS, and shared JavaScript is valid and consistent across applications.
• Prepare and maintain all applications utilizing standard development tools.
• Utilize backend data services and contribute to increase existing data services API.
• Lead the entire web application development life cycle right from concept stage to delivery and post launch support.
• Refactor, optimize, and improve the existing codebase for maintenance and scale.
• Use test driven development and acceptance tests to ensure feature quality
• Convey effectively with all task progress, evaluations, suggestions, schedules along with technical and process issues.
• Document the development process, architecture, and standard components.
• Coordinate with co-developers and keeps project manager well informed of the status of development effort and serves as a liaison between development staff and project manager.
• Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in web development.

We wish:

• Previous working experience as a PHP Developer for 4 year(s)
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Familiarity with limitations of PHP as a platform and its workarounds
• Proficient in PHP, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery Expert
• Experience with PHP MVC frameworks (Symfony, Laravel, Yii, CodeIgniter, Zend, etc.)
• Excellent relational database skills with MySQL
• Experience with building restful JSON web services
• Knowledge of API’s, such as Twitter, Facebook, Google maps, Instagram, etc.
• Understanding of responsive design frameworks such as bootstrap

Desirable:

• Should have problem-solving skills
• Good experience in oops concept
• Good experience  in MVC
• Good experience in jQuery & JavaScript
• Learn & work on new technologies/ frameworks.
• Knowledge of bootstrap

This person MUST have:

• B.E Computer Science or equivalent
• 5 years experience with the Django framework
• Experience with building APIs (REST or GraphQL) 
• Strong Troubleshooting and debugging skills
• React.js knowledge would be an added bonus 
• Understanding on how to use a database like Postgres (prefered choice), SQLite, MongoDB, MySQL.
• Sound knowledge of object-oriented design and analysis.
• A strong passion for writing simple, clean and efficient code.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools Git.
• Strong communication skills.

Experience:

• Min 5 year experience
• Startup experience is a must. 

Location:

• Remote developer

Timings:

• 40 hours a week but with 4 hours a day overlapping with client timezone.  Typically clients are in California PST Timezone.

Position:

• Full time/Direct
