Job Title:

Software Development Engineer II- Java

Responsibilities:

A typical SDE2 is expected to take up the following responsibilities:

● Work closely with Team Leads and Product Managers to gather requirements and estimate project timelines.

● Should be able to understand product specifications and come up with optimal scalable solutions.

● Should be aware of the Agile working model and follow JIRA hygiene

● Complete ownership of features worked upon should be able to perform RCAs and provide quick resolution of relevant issues/production bugs while training Tech Support Engineers to offload recurring chunks of work.

● Should be a full-time mentor for SDE1s and be able to assist all other SDE1s as and when required.

● Be part of the lateral hiring process and allocate fixed bandwidth for interviewing processes.

● Should strive to follow best coding practices throughout designing, development, and testing.

● Should have great communication skills over email and in-person discussions.

Requirements:

● Strong exposure to Java and Springboot

● Solid understanding of algorithms and data structures and basic APIs & database design

● Should have worked with MVC frameworks, web / client-based server architecture, and structured and unstructured databases.

● Ability to translate product spec to engineering actionable

● Ability to navigate and structure code bases

● Rudimentary skills around service hosting and infrastructure. Should understand the end-to-end deployment cycle

Ideal Candidate Persona:

● Education Background

○ B.Tech / Dual Degree with Computer Science as a major discipline, MCA.

○ Preferred to have graduated in CS or IT-related subjects.

● Worked as SDE for 2-4 years in startup / mid-tier product companies with a small team size (2-3 recent experiences even if the initial job is in service-based companies), preferably in the Fintech space

● Excellent internship record

● Executed on RCAs / challenging engg problems with an SDE III at work

● Won awards / Recognized by upper management for going above and beyond

● Has working experience with Linux. Any certification is good to have

● Open source/pet project contributions

● Active on GitHub / StackOverflow

● Published papers in A-level conferences like IEEE, ACM (optional)

As a strong tech leader, you will lead development activities across multiple enterprise projects.

Role & Responsibilities:

 Solve complex problems and produce the highest quality code.

 Work closely with both external clients and internal, cross-functional product and technical teams to support multiple projects.

 Maintain technical design documentation, communicating architectural and design changes to development teams

 Conduct regular design and code reviews, establishing and publishing quality and performance metrics

 Manage and foster a team-oriented environment, providing technical oversight to team members

Skills & Qualifications:

 10+ years of professional experience on .NET framework 4x

 Solid understanding and experience with Object-Oriented design & development

 Excellent hands-on C# coding skills

 Experience working with ASP.NET MVC, Entity Framework, LINQ, NoSQL, Message Queue, and building Reusable Libraries

 Should possess SQL Server database skills to design new or alter existing table structures as per the requirements

 Exposure in building web-based applications

 Should have worked on a complex enterprise business application in a product-based IT company and/or banking and financial services company

 Data-driven, analytical approach to problem-solving and project management

 Working experience with Agile methodologies.

Required Skills:

• 3+ year of experience in Development in JAVA technology.
• Strong Java Basics

• Hands on experience on Relationl Databases (SQL query or Hibernate) + Mongo (JSON parsing)
• Proficient in REST API development

Summary of role: As a Developer, you will be working alongside our product team in the conceptualization, design and development of server side components. You will be doing the following on the job

• Excellent knowledge in one or more of Python/NodeJS REST Frameworks 
• Hands on experience in system architecture and data modelling. Experience with databases like MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB.
• Devops capabilities - with good understanding of deployments and cloud infrastructure. In depth knowledge of container architecture using Docker is must.
