• Deep expertise with microservices architectures and design patterns.
• Cloud Native AWS experience with services such as Lambda, SQS, RDS/Aurora, S3, Lex, and Polly.
• Mastery of both Windows and Linux environments and their use in the development and management of complex distributed systems architectures.
• Git source code repository and continuous integration tools.
• Proficient with debugging and profiling distributed systems.

Senior Software Engineer - 221254.

We (the Software Engineer team) are looking for a motivated, experienced person with a data driven approach to join our Distribution Team in Budapest or Szeged to help design, execute and improve our test sets and infrastructure for producing high-quality Hadoop software.

A Day in the life

You will be part of a team that makes sure our releases are predictable and deliver high value to the customer. This team is responsible for automating and maintaining our test harness, and making test results reliable and repeatable.

You have...

•strong knowledge in at least 1 of the following languages: Java / Python / Scala / C++ / C#

•hands-on experience with at least 1 of the following configuration management tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt

•confidence with Linux environments

•ability to identify critical weak spots in distributed software systems

•experience in developing automated test cases and test plans

What you need to have:

Duck Creek Platform in general, agile/scrum, change orientation and effective communication :

• Responsible for development of complex configuration in Duck Creek application
• Work with Business and subject matter experts to gather and validate the requirements
• Work with development lead on designing solutions
• Provide guidance or mentorship to the team where applicable
• Provide inputs to testing scope and review artifacts

• Identify, escalate and mitigate challenges in delivery both from technical and functional stand point.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 8-12 years’ of industry experience in programming web applications, mobile and/or large scale enterprise products
• Deep knowledge of C#, ASP, .NET, MVC, .Net core
• Deep knowledge and extensive experience working on Ruby or React and JavaScript, as required
• Experience with XML, ADO/ADO.NET, LINQ, AJAX, IIS
• Extended experience with SQL, relational and non-relational databases
• Experience in TFS and Visual Studio
• Hands on experience with SDLC and programming design patterns
• Experience with Agile methodology
• Skillful at reviewing new feature impact on an application and recognizing potential risks
• Uses time effectively and efficiently
• Quickly learns new technologies

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, following the software development lifecycle.
• Conducts systems analysis and makes recommendations to improve the system to achieve an outcome.
• Promotes internal best practices and coding conventions to write and execute tests for your own code, including creating comprehensive unit tests.
• Contributes to Technical Requirements Documents.
• Requests constructive feedback for designs early in the process.
• Communicates successfully with large teams and many stakeholders.
• Provides mentorship for Software Engineers and participates in interview panels to hire new Software Engineers.
• Assists in removing obstacles for the team to yield successful sprints.
• Performs peer code reviews to ensure quality of the codebase.
• Ability to decompose and delegate work to junior engineers.
• Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.
• Works effectively with multiple projects and features.
