About the role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer with expertise in building scalable, extensible applications, identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks, collaborate with other team members to innovate current/new products; Identify, communicate and implement best practices for application engineering. We’d love for you to have:

• Experience: 3-5 years of experience as a backend developer is required
• Education: B.Tech. in Computer Science from tier - 1 engineering colleges in India

• A self-starter who is passionate about problem solving across complex technology stack.
• Highly skilled back-end engineer using Object-Oriented programming preferably Java, exposure to open source libraries and frameworks.
• Strong knowledge and experience in REST based programming using Restlet framework.
• Ability and experience in evaluation and integration of third party systems and libraries.
• Experience in system architecture, data structures, algorithm design and their optimization.
• Passion for performance benchmarking and debugging.
• Strong knowledge of web standards (i.e. REST/SOAP) concepts
• Knowledge of version control (GIT) and databases (MySQL)
• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, design, develop, debug, document, and deliver (especially in a multiple location organization).
• Experience in Test-driven development.

- Proficiency working in Django, Django REST Framework or Flask.
- Deployment and production support.
- Strong knowledge of SQL database and experience in writing queries with and without ORM.
- Designing and creating RESTful APIs for internal and partner consumption
- Experience of code versioning tools, such as Git, Bitbucket, Github

What you will do: 

• Collaborate with the client to understand problem statements and provide solutions for the same.
• Explain client requirements to the project team and plan and delegate work requirements
• Ensure the applications are released to production in the committed timeline

What you will bring: 

• 4 years minimum detail-oriented experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
• Experience in client interactions and/or are looking forward to doing that (preferred if, you have worked in B2B application development for large enterprises 🟢)
• Prior experience of at least one large project with a few people under your belt. (🟢)
• Expert-level knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Oracle/Postgres.
• Expert-level knowledge on one or all of Hibernate/JPA/MyBatis.
• Experience in RESTful services and fundamentals of MVC architecture.
• Experience in working with and configuring web and application servers, such as Apache/Nginx/Tomcat.
• Proficient understanding of build tools, such as Maven/Gradle and code versioning tools, such as Git/SVN.
• Ability to review specifications documents and provide technical inputs on successfully implementing business solutions.

As a Java Tech Lead, you would be expected to understand business requirements, represent Needle to external stakeholders, and have experience in working in agile teams.

Job purpose:
A backend developer works alongside front-end developers, full stack developers, programmers or UX specialists to create comprehensive digital solutions for business needs. They make sure the website is scalable and that it can still function when hit by large loads—be that traffic or demanding scripts. They are also tasked with
maintaining and testing existing back-end elements to ensure they’re as fast and efficient as possible. Data storage also comes under their remit, which requires them to have a good knowledge of data security and compliance.

Duties and responsibilities:
• Analyses, designs, develops, and codes REST API using NodeJS more programming languages, Web and Rich Internet Applications.
• Supports applications with an understanding of system integration, test planning, scripting, and troubleshooting.
• Assesses the health and performance of software applications and databases.
• Establishes, participates, and maintains relationships with business units, customers and subject matter experts to remain apprised of direction, project status, architectural and technology trends, risks, and functional/integration issues.

Role Description:

As a Lead Backend Engineer , you will be responsible for designing and deploying scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems for Radiusagent. Experience as a Tech Lead, managing tasks with back-end engineers while coding themselves will be a bonus point for the ideal candidate.

Strategy, planning, and design:

• Take end-to-end ownership of the product, identify technology requirements, define the future product vision, create preliminary design concepts for add-on modules and shape overall technology and product roadmap by collaborating with the founders, business development, and marketing team.
• Ensure user oriented design is the primary approach to product development across multiple screens, based on user behaviour data and direct customer feedback.

 

Implementation and deployment:

• Manage Product Release, QA cycles, feature implementation and on time delivery through in-house team and vendors.
• Collaborate with team and customers to define use cases.
• Creation of wireframes/prototypes, site maps and user-flows for web and mobile platforms.

 

Operational management :

• Support marketing by implementing technical requirements for SEO/product analytics.
• Establish and supervise a quality assurance process, including integration & system testing.
• Rigorously monitor key performance metrics and coordinate with various teams to take corrective actions if needed.
• Establish and forecast ROI of features and succinctly articulate competitive advantage.
