We (the Software Engineer team) are looking for a motivated, experienced person with a data driven approach to join our Distribution Team in Budapest or Szeged to help design, execute and improve our test sets and infrastructure for producing high-quality Hadoop software.

 

A Day in the life

 

You will be part of a team that makes sure our releases are predictable and deliver high value to the customer. This team is responsible for automating and maintaining our test harness, and making test results reliable and repeatable.

•work on making our distributed software stack more resilient to high-scale endurance runs and customer simulations

You have...

•strong knowledge in at least 1 of the following languages: Java / Python / Scala / C++ / C#

•hands-on experience with at least 1 of the following configuration management tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt

•confidence with Linux environments

•ability to identify critical weak spots in distributed software systems

•experience in developing automated test cases and test plans

•ability to deal with distributed systems

We are looking for a Developer who is proficient with Node and has at least 1-3 years of relevant experience. Your primary role will be on developing microservices, while ensuring good coding practices and architecture. You will have end to end ownership of the services you develop, to ensure it is robust and easy to maintain. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, and quality product is important.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Proficient in RESTful APIs and API communications, especially to consume data from and/or push data into MongoDB for Web and mobile applications

Basic Qualifications

2 -4 years of professional software development experience
You’ve designed, built, scaled and maintained production services, and know how to compose a service oriented architecture.
Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
You write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers
You are comfortable with programming languages like Go, Python, Java
You’ve good understanding of databases system like Postgres. Extensive Knowledge about Postgres is a big plus.
You’ve have worked with Docker, Kubernetes and have fundamental understanding of distributed systems like Kafka, Elasticsearch

Preferred Qualifications

Experience taking a lead role developing complex software systems that have successfully been delivered to customers.
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs and product strategy.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing and operations
