DevOps Engineer

We are looking for a hands-on DevOps Engineer to manage and scale our cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes-based microservice deployments, monitoring systems, and data engineering infrastructure.

The person will be responsible for building reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-efficient infrastructure using automation-first practices. This role is important for supporting a high-growth B2C platform where availability, deployment velocity, observability, security, and cost efficiency are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and automate cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot microservices on Kubernetes.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable, controlled deployments.
• Implement safe release practices, including rolling deployments, rollback, and zero-downtime deployments.
• Manage monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards, and production runbooks.
• Support incident response, production debugging, RCA, and preventive action closure.
• Ensure infrastructure is scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-optimised.
• Support data engineering infrastructure, including ClickHouse, PeerDB, Airflow, Kafka, and related platform components.
• Maintain infra-level security controls, backups, disaster recovery, and access governance.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, and AWS.
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, ingress, and autoscaling.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD, or similar.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, New Relic, or similar.
• Good understanding of cloud networking, DNS, load balancers, VPC/VPN, SSL/TLS, firewalls, and WAF.
• Experience with Linux administration, shell scripting, and automation.
• Understanding of cloud security, IAM, secrets management, and access governance.
• Exposure to databases, queues, caches, and data infrastructure tools such as ClickHouse, PeerDB, Airflow, Kafka, or similar.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills during production incidents.
• Ability to work closely with engineering teams to improve deployment, monitoring, cost, and reliability. 

Job Summary:

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, security, user management, reporting, migrations, upgrades, disaster recovery, and infrastructure restoration, among other tasks. They will also work with application teams on infrastructure design and issues, and architect solutions to optimally meet business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot various infrastructure and application environments
• Work with AWS services like EC2, ECS, EBS, ELB, S3, Route 53, RDS, ALB, etc., in a highly available and scalable production environment
• Monitor, automate, troubleshoot, secure, maintain users, and report on infrastructure and applications
• Collaborate with application teams on infrastructure design and issues
• Architect solutions that optimally meet business needs

Qualifications:

• Proficient understanding of CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and various cloud services
• Experience with AWS services like EC2, ECS, EBS, ELB, S3, Route 53, RDS, ALB, etc.
• Experience in monitoring, automation, troubleshooting, security, user management, reporting, migrations, upgrades, disaster recovery, and infrastructure restoration
• Experience in architecting solutions that optimally meet business needs
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Strong understanding of system concepts like high availability, scalability, and redundancy
• Ability to work with application teams on infrastructure design and issues
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with automation of routine tasks
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 5 to 10 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a related role
• Experience with observability tools like ELK, Prometheus, Grafana

Working Conditions:

The DevOps Engineer will work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with various application teams, stakeholders, and management. They will work both independently and in teams, and they may need to work extended hours or be on call to handle infrastructure emergencies.

Note: This is a remote role. The team member is expected to be in the Bangalore office for one week each quarter.

DevOps Engineer

Job Description:

The position requires a broad set of technical and interpersonal skills that includes deployment technologies, monitoring and scripting from networking to infrastructure. Well versed in troubleshooting Prod issues and should be able to drive till the RCA.

Skills:

• Manage VMs across multiple datacenters and AWS to support dev/test and production workloads.
• Strong hands-on over Ansible is preferred
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in Kubernetes Architecture and administration.
• Should have core knowledge in Linux and System operations.
• Proactively and reactively resolve incidents as escalated from monitoring solutions and end users.
• Conduct and automate audits for network and systems infrastructure.
• Do software deployments, per documented processes, with no impact to customers.
• Follow existing devops processes while having flexibility to create and tweak processes to gain efficiency.
• Troubleshoot connectivity problems across network, systems or applications.
• Follow security guidelines, both policy and technical to protect our customers.
• Ability to automate recurring tasks to increase velocity and quality.
• Should have worked on any one of the Database (Postgres/Mongo/Cockroach/Cassandra)
• Should have knowledge and hands-on experience in managing ELK clusters.
• Scripting Knowledge in Shell/Python is added advantage.
• Hands-on Experience over K8s based Microservice Architecture is added advantage.

Job description

The role requires you to design development pipelines from the ground up, Creation of Docker Files,  design and operate highly available systems in AWS Cloud environments. Also involves Configuration Management, Web Services Architectures, DevOps Implementation, Database management, Backups, and Monitoring.

Key responsibility area
- Ensure reliable operation of CI/CD pipelines
- Orchestrate the provisioning, load balancing, configuration, monitoring and billing of resources in the cloud environment in a highly automated manner
- Logging, metrics and alerting management.
- Creation of Bash/Python scripts for automation
- Performing root cause analysis for production errors.

Requirement
- 2 years experience as Team Lead.
- Good Command on kubernetes.
- Proficient in Linux Commands line and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in AWS Services. Deployment, Monitoring and troubleshooting applications in AWS.
- Hands-on experience with CI tooling preferably with Jenkins. 
- Proficient in deployment using Ansible.
- Knowledge of infrastructure management tools (Infrastructure as cloud) such as terraform, AWS cloudformation etc.
- Proficient in deployment of applications behind load balancers and proxy servers such as nginx, apache. 
- Scripting languages: Bash, Python, Groovy.
- Experience with Logging, Monitoring, and Alerting tools like ELK(Elastic-search, Logstash, Kibana), Nagios. Graylog, splunk Prometheus, Grafana is a plus.

Must Have:

• Automation scripting (using scripting languages such as Terraform, Ansible etc.)

• Ability to quickly acquire new skills and tools
