Job description for Python/Backend Developer

We are actively looking for backend software engineers who are passionate about building cutting-edge systems that work on the latest tech stack (Python, Django) but also help save lives. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and lead the development of several AI-enabled products and solutions within the company that are geared to help accelerate the development of new cures and to reduce the inefficiencies in how healthcare information is managed. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable APIs using Python/Django.
• Integrate third-party APIs like Facebook page API, Google Business API, and all other social APIs (10+)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code.
• Develop and maintain authentication mechanisms, including OAuth, JWT, and SSO integration with third-party providers.
• Optimize and maintain existing APIs for performance and scalability.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience:
• 2+ years of experience in Python development.
• Proven experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Advanced proficiency in Python programming.
• Strong experience with databases (e.g., MySQL, Elasticsearch).
• Hands-on experience with SSO protocols and implementation (e.g., OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect).
• Experience integrating SSO with third-party providers.
• Proficiency in using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) for secure data exchange

• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Python and Python frameworks (Django, Flask).
• Solid understanding of web technologies (HTTP, SSL/TLS, JSON, XML).
• Familiarity with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger, Postman).
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Expertise in authentication and authorization methods.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
• Experience in writing unit tests for code to ensure reliability and maintainability

• At least 4 years of experience as a Node.js developer.
• Extensive knowledge of JavaScript, web stacks, libraries, and frameworks.
• Mandatory experience in MongoDB and MySql.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML5 and CSS3.
• Superb interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving aptitude.

The Engineering team at Whatfix provides end to end engineering throughput that forms part of core platforms and services that drive Whatfix business.

Our team is responsible for creating the Customer Platform and everything around it be it Analytics, Infrastructure or Core Algorithms. The team owns and is responsible for all pieces that we design, build and support end to end for Whatfix product/ business.

 Your Responsibility:

1. Define architecture blueprints & take complete technical ownership of high-level design, tech stack, non-functional attributes of one or more components of various platforms
2. Design, build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers worldwide
3. Work closely with other architects in the team and ensure architectural consistency and technical excellence of the products and platforms
4. Work with engineering teams in building high-quality and highly resilient scalable products and platforms at Whatfix
5. Work with cross-functional teams to address all technical dependencies
6. Drive some of the company-wide tech initiatives striving towards continuous technical excellence of our platforms
7. Actively participate in technical innovations, external presentations, technical publications etc.
8. Identify right open source tools to deliver product features by performing research, POC/Pilot and/or interacting with various open-source forums
9. Deploy and monitor products on Cloud platforms

 Your Qualifications:

1. 11+ years of experience as an Engineer
2. Ability to work with teams in a collaborative and productive manner
3. Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures and algorithms
4. A self-motivated learner and builder with strong customer focus and obsession with quality

 Must-Have:

1. Strong Expertise in Backend Technologies- Java, Spring Boot, etc 
2. Expertise in working with AWS or other cloud infrastructures like Azure or Google Cloud, and using Infrastructure-as-Code tools
3. Analyze Functional & Non-Functional requirements with effort estimation and deployment strategies
4. Hands-on in Architecting and developing large scale applications
5. Hands-on debugging skills
6. Design for performance, scalability, fault tolerance and high availability

 Good to have:

1. Experience in Client-side technologies such as jQuery
2. Experience in Front End Technologies is good to have (Javascript, React)
3. Experience with Storage systems - NoSQL (Cassandra/MongoDB)
4. Leveraging cutting edge technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, etc. to design and build new infrastructure features

Job Description

We are looking for Advance Java developers who want to help us design cutting edge scalable products to meet our rapidly growing business. We are building out a team and looking for multiple levels but you should have at least 4-6 years of programming experience.

         Strong working knowledge of Databases – MySQL, OS - Linux.

         Experience and knowledge of open source tools & frameworks, broader cutting edge          technologies around server side development.

• 2+ years of experience on Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate in medium to large-scale projects
• Must have experience with at least some flavours of both SQL (MySQL, Postgres) and NoSQL (Kafka, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, NoSQL distributed cache system, DynamoDB etc), datastores in production
• Must have experience with Kafka or similar message queue systems in production
• Stellar problem solving skills
• Hunger to learn new things and ability to grasp new concepts quickly
• Ability to move quickly without breaking things too much (we are dreamers)
