Java Developer

Job Description:

- We are looking for a seasoned Backend engineer to manage our web infrastructure. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of recent experience with all the skills listed below.

- Our project entails implementing our pre-approved UI, constructing our API, connecting the two, and setting up our server infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

- Pixel-perfect- implementation of our approved user interface

- Design and construction of our REST APIs

- Ensuring the entire stack is designed and built for speed and scalability

- Maintaining the current web services by making regular updates to improve security and performance

Skills :

1) Experience :

- >1+ years experience in Backend development, preferably in Python [Flask].

- > 1+ years experience in writing REST APIs in Python/Flask.

- > Database design and management, including being up on the latest practices and associated versions

- > Server management and deployment for the relevant environment

2) Experience with SQL databases

3) Experience implementing testing platforms and unit tests

4) Proficiency with Git.

Roles & Responsibilities
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code.
• Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications.
• Prepare and produce releases of software components.
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these
for architectural review.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
• Computer Science or equivalent Engineering degree.
• 2 to 4 years of professional experience as a Java Developer.
• Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).
• Experience in the Spring Framework.
• Experience with test-driven development.

Must have

• Strong proficiency in at least one of  Java, Ruby, Python
• Exposure to databases: any of  PostgreSQL, MySQL, Apache Cassandra
• Any NoSQL database experience is a plus
• Exposure to AWS cloud infrastructure: EC2 or S3

• MUST: Using REST to make API calls.

• Experience working with one or more middleware, enterprise bus, queueing frameworks

What will you do at Tradyl:

• Build a shipping service module that is called by our website to query shipping rates from India to a destination country. Configure this to so that an Ops person can update shipping costs as and when they change. Own deployment and monitoring of this service. 
• Use Zapier to build a workflow to export a MixPanel report into a Google sheet every day.
• Change our supplier portal (built on bubble.io) to make an API call to our customer facing site, whenever a supplier modifies his profile.
• Write an alert mechanism that identifies catalogues with insufficient information and makes them non discoverable, which can run every day.
• Work with Business Team to design a workflow for product inwarding using Airtable. Write a small app within Airtable so that whenever a product is updated as “shipped” in airtable, it updates the customer facing website.
• Use an open source dashboarding framework to create a quick dashboard to track important business events. 

Lead a team of developers to build robust secure and scalable microservices to power our Geo-spatial, Demand, Availability, Matching, Allocation and other platforms
• You will design high level architecture solutions, write high quality code, do code reviews
• You will take ownership to run and maintain the services in Cloud infrastructure
• You will continuously evaluate relevant technologies, influence and drive architecture and design discussions

You must have

TECHNICAL SKILLSET REQUIRED :

- 2+ years of professional software development experience

- 2+ years of object-oriented Java / J2EE development

- Full SDLC experience (requirements gathering, architecture, development, QA, etc- )

- Experience with Spring (MVC, IOP/DI, REST, Security) & Hibernate/Spring

- Experience with SOAP / REST web services

- Knowledge of SQL

- Knowledge of No SQL concepts, understanding of Solr, Redis and Mongo DB is desirable

- Understanding concepts of CDN & Content Management

- Must have worked on any one messaging solutions

 Bonus Points for micro service design and development experience

- Bonus points for any mobile development experience

- Used Agile methodology

- Experience leading or working with cross geography teams
