Java Backend Developer

We are looking for a highly skilled Java Backend Developer with 4–6 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing scalable backend systems. The ideal candidate should be proficient in both SQL and NoSQL databases, experienced in building microservices using Spring Boot, and have a solid grasp of multithreading and concurrency in Java.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable backend services and APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build solutions based on microservices architecture ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Work with SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
• Optimize application performance through multithreading and concurrency management.
• Collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure smooth integration and deployment.

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Required Skillset:

• 5–8 years of professional experience in backend development using Java.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and performance optimization techniques.
• Good grasp of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus.

What you'll do:

·         Perform complex application programming activities with an emphasis on mobile development:  Angular, Node, TypeScript, JavaScript, Apache Cordova, RESTful APIs and more

·         Assist in the definition of system architecture and detailed solution design that are scalable and extensible

·         Collaborate with Product Owners, Designers, and other engineers on different permutations to find the best solution possible

·         Own the quality of code and do your own testing. Automate feature testing and contribute UI testing framework

·         Become a subject matter expert for our mobile applications

Basic Qualifications: 

·         Minimum B.S. / M.S. Computer Science or related discipline from accredited college or University

·         At least 6 years of experience designing, developing, and delivering web applications with Angular, Node, Typescript, IONIC and JavaScript

·         At least 2 years of experience building iOS-based applications utilizing hybrid technologies

·         At least 2 years of experience with AWS and/or Openshift

·         Experience integrating with native device API’s (iOS)

·         Experience with front-end and/or mobile-specific testing frameworks

·         Strong experience in object-oriented design and development

·         Knowledge of building and consuming RESTful APIs

·         Excellent sense of web design, passionate about creating and refining great mobile user experiences.

• You have the prior experience in modernising legacy applications.

The role:

Our engineering team is growing and we are looking to bring on board a senior software engineer who can help us transition to the next phase of the company. As we roll out our platform to customers, you will be pivotal in refining our system architecture, ensuring the various tech stacks play well with each other, and smoothening the DevOps process.

Qualifications

Work Experience

• 5+ years of industry experience (3+ years in a senior engineering role) preferably with some exposure in leading remote development teams in the past.
• Proven track record building large-scale, high-throughput, low-latency production systems with at least 3+ years working with customers, architecting solutions, and delivering end-to-end products.
• Fluency in writing production-grade Go or Python in a microservice architecture with containers/VMs for over 5+ years.
• 2+ years of DevOps experience (Kubernetes, Docker, Helm and public cloud APIs)
• Worked with relational (SQL) as well as non-relational databases (Mongo or Couch) in a production environment.
