Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Java Developer to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Java development with a focus on backend frameworks such as Spring Boot and Hibernate. Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js or Python, or Java.

2. Build and implement scalable and robust microservices and integrate API gateways.

3. Develop and optimize NoSQL database structures and queries (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).

4. Implement real-time data pipelines using Kafka.

5. Collaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integration of backend services.

6. Write clean, reusable, and efficient code following best practices, including design patterns.

Mandatory Skills:

1. Proficiency in at least one backend technology: Node.js or Python, or Java.

v. Data structures (e.g., arrays, linked lists, trees).

3. Frameworks:

Good to Have Skills:

1. Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration.

2. Familiarity with in-memory databases like Redis or Memcached.

3. Frontend skills: Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or frameworks like React.js.

Roles:

• Developing core infrastructure in Python, Django.
• Developing models and business logic (e. g. transactions, payments, diet plan, search, etc).

• Minimum 4 years of industry or open-source experience.

Responsibilities:

• Your primary responsibility as a senior backend engineer will be to architect and develop a scalable and robust micro-services backend with strong Java, Spring(Boot), SQL, AWS/GCP.
• Experience being part of a software development team in an Agile/Lean/Continuous Delivery environment
• Be a key performer in a high-performance product engineering team

Qualifications:

• 2 to 4 years of overall IT experience. Most of this experience in Java (Core Java, Spring boot, Java collections, Java Multithreading)
• Should have experience designing database schemas - SQL and NoSQL.
• Exposure to frameworks like Spring, Hibernate, Play would be a plus
• Experience with microservices architecture would be beneficial.
• Working knowledge of any public cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure)
• Broad understanding and experience of real-time analytics, NoSQL data stores, data modeling and data management, analytical tools, languages, or libraries
• Knowledge of container tech like Docker, Kubernetes would be a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.

You’ll have a strong focus on team management and development, equal focus will be on writing production code and hands on active development of the capabilities and solutions. Assist in defining infrastructure need and use enterprise solution and drive resolution of technology roadblocks including code, infrastructure, build and deployment. Manage overall software development cycle by adhering to development and security standards. Establish good stakeholder communication and work closely with Product teams and influence set product roadmap and help drive requirements while being a strong advocate of extreme agile and DevOps practices across engineers. Build and manage a team of high performing full stack engineers and provide leadership, coaching, motivation and recommend staffing levels, operating procedures, tools and systems for the team. Provide career development and performance management to a team of engineers.

Required Candidate Profile

• 4 year degree in or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of engineering (software development) experience
• 1-3 years of managing teams with a strong track record of delivery for cross-functional product experience with Cloud hosting and managing products
• Proficient in building high performing APIs and writing specs
• Expertise in programming languages. Hands on experience in Java, J2ee technologies is preferred.
• Experience in SAP Hybris Commerce would be a plus
• Experience with integration, data handling technologies and other open source frameworks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to variety of audiences
• Team-orientated, passionate about developing others’ skills and capabilities
• Successful track record of working in large scale technology solutions
