Role & Responsibilities

We are currently seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Financial Services team, contributing to the design and development of scalable system.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be Able To-

• Take ownership of delivering performant, scalable and high quality cloud based software, both frontend and backend side.
• Mentor team members to develop in line with product requirements.
• Collaborate with Senior Architect for design and technology choices for product development roadmap.
• Do code reviews.

Ideal Candidate

• Strong Software Engineer fullstack profile using NodeJS, Python, and React
• Mandatory (Experience) - Must have 6+ YOE in Software Development using Python and NodeJS (For backend) & React (For frontend)
• Mandatory (Core Skills 1): Must have strong experience in working on Typescript
• Mandatory (Core Skills 2): Must have experience in message based systems like Kafka, RabbitMq, Redis
• Mandatory (Core Skills 3): Databases - PostgreSQL & NoSQL databases like MongoDB
• Mandatory (Company) - Product Companies Only
• Mandatory (Education) - B.Tech or Dual degree (Btech and Mtech or Integrated Msc/MS) from Tier 1 Engineering Institutes. Candidates from other institutions will not be considered unless they come from top-tier product companies
• Mandatory (Note) : This role is a hybrid role (2 days WFO)
• Preferred (Experience): Experience in Fin-Tech, Payment, POS and Retail products is highly preferred
• Preferred (Mentoring): Experience in mentoring, coaching the team.

About the Role

Firmway is looking for a candidate who is willing to with the FinTech Startup to take it to the next level. The candidate must also possess a strong knowledge of web application development using PHP programming language and MySQL Server databases.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Modifying existing code with new features available in current and future deployments.
• Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core product software and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality.
• Understand user requirements and prepare an algorithm.
• Write clean, high quality, optimized & reusable code.
• Maintain Security of the Application.
• Identifies competitive advantages and technological trends for the benefit of a company.

Key Skills

• Must be proficient in PHP, Laravel, Mysql, AWS technology stacks.
• Must have experience in working on a framework such as Laravel, front-end development skills including Javascript & JQuery.
• Experience with REST-based API Development.
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) Concepts, MySQL, CSS3, JSON, XML & MVC.
• Knowledge of Networking and Versioning.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages.
• Strong programming skills with an understanding of project cycles, development environments, and source control techniques.

Good to Have Skills:

• Ability to work without supervision.
• Efficiently handles tasks in a reasonable amount of time.
• Ability to communicate with clients, colleagues and management to explain complex issues clearly and concisely.

Requirements

• 1-5 Year of Experience as Full Stack Developer.
• Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue JS, Angular JS, React, and Nuxt.
• Proficiency with server side languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, PHP.
• Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL, Oracle and MongoDB.
• Experience working on MEAN (Angular JS, NodeJS, Express, MongoDB) and MERN Stack (ReactJS, React Native, NodeJS, Express, MongoDB).
• Optional experience of using AWS.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Good problem solving skills.
