Role: Java Backend Developer with AWS

Key Responsibilities

● Design & Development: Build robust, scalable, and maintainable backend services using Java 17+ and the Spring Boot ecosystem.

● API Design: Develop and document RESTful for consumption by web and mobile frontends.

● Database Management: Optimize complex queries and design schemas for relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.

● Microservices Architecture: Contribute to the migration or maintenance of microservices, ensuring high availability and low latency.

● Code Quality: Perform thorough code reviews and write comprehensive unit, integration, and functional tests (JUnit, Mockito).

● Cloud & DevOps: Deploy and manage applications in AWS using Docker and Kubernetes.

● Collaboration: Work closely with Frontend Developers, Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

Required Technical Skills

● Java Mastery: Deep understanding of Core Java, Multithreading, and Stream API.

● Frameworks: Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Data JPA/Hibernate.

● Cloud Experience: Proficiency with cloud-native services (e.g., AWS Lambda, S3, RDS, or SQS).

● Messaging: Experience with message brokers like Apache Kafka for asynchronous processing.

● CI/CD: Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.

● Version Control: Expert-level knowledge of Git and branching strategies.

Qualifications & Soft Skills

● Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in backend development.

● Problem Solving: Ability to debug complex production issues and performance bottlenecks.

● Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills—vital for a remote/hybrid contractor setup.

● Adaptability: Proven ability to quickly learn new codebases and business domains.

• As a senior backend engineer, you will be expected to execute and deliver large and complex projects end-to-end, with or without the involvement of other team members
• Ensuring timely delivery of all product deliverables
• Play a key role in technical discussions within the team and be the go-to person for the team for guidance and troubleshooting
• Understand key Business and Engineering metrics around performance, quality, and availability and work regularly with the team to push the boundaries and improve them periodically
• Proactively participate in code reviews and architecture and design discussions
• Mentoring junior engineers and setting best practices for coding, code reviews, etc.
• Help the organization in building a top-quality team by participating in hiring initiatives and evangelizing about contributions, accomplishments, and victories

• Strong and self-motivated individuals, should be able to independently drive decisions
• Solid experience in building web-based products
• Overall of 4+ years of expertise in at least one dynamic programming language and one MVC web framework, preferably Ruby on Rails
• Expertise in Database modeling, preferably relational DB, spotting DB bottlenecks, and writing optimized DB queries
• Expertise in all common Cloud technologies, preferably AWS. Knowledge of CI/CD tools and workflows
• Proven track record in building highly-available and scalable distributed systems
• Willingness to play and explore with new technologies and be a Subject Matter Expert and support them
• Someone who believes in small incremental improvements and is passionate about refactoring
• A keen eye for quality with regards to following and establishing good coding practices, improving code coverage
• Good stakeholder management, ability to build trust and rapport with internal and external stakeholders

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Backend Developer with a strong proficiency in Node.js and expertise in database management. As a Backend Developer, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our software systems, ensuring their high performance and responsiveness.

Responsibilities:

·      Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Node.js.

·      Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software requirements and specifications.

·      Optimize and scale applications for maximum speed and scalability.

·      Implement security and data protection measures.

·      Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.

·      Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.

·      Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in backend development.

Requirements:

·      Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

·      Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Node.js development.

·      Proficiency with databases, preferably MongoDB or DynamoDB.

·      Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.

·      Experience with version control systems, such as Git.

·      Familiarity with cloud platforms in AWS is a plus.

·      Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

·      Strong communication and teamwork skills.

·      Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

·      Proven track record of delivering high-quality code on schedule.

• Understanding and Experience with Multi-Threaded Applications
• Prior Experience in a SAAS Product company is a Plus 
• Experience with Managing Team is a plus

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from Tier 1 College is a Plus.
