About the Role

Shava Studios is building AI-native software products. We are hiring a Mid Senior Full-Stack Engineer to own features end-to-end across the frontend and backend, with depth in system architecture and the AI and real-time systems that connect them. We hire for demonstrated ability rather than years of experience.

Technical Environment

1. Frontend: Next.js (App Router), React, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, MUI, Radix UI, TanStack Query, Zustand, NextAuth; Remotion for in-browser video editing and rendering.
2. Backend: Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy with PostgreSQL and Alembic, Pydantic; hexagonal (ports-and-adapters) microservices.
3. Async & Real-Time: Celery with RabbitMQ, Redis and Redis Streams, server-sent events, and WebSockets.
4. AI: LangGraph, deepagents, and LangChain for agent orchestration across multiple GenAI providers (OpenAI, Google, and others).

Responsibilities

1. Design, build, and ship full-stack features end-to-end across the UI, backend services, and async job pipelines.
2. Design and evolve service APIs, data models, and database schemas with migrations.
3. Architect and integrate LLM/agent and other AI capabilities behind clean, provider-agnostic abstractions.
4. Build and harden real-time systems (WebSockets, server-sent events, streaming) with reliable delivery and reconnection semantics.
5. Design asynchronous processing pipelines: queuing, workers, retries, idempotency, and failure recovery.
6. Manage third-party integrations (payments, AI providers, storage) behind well-defined interfaces.
7. Optimize frontend and backend performance, state management, and scalability.
8. Own security-sensitive concerns: authentication, authorization, secret handling, and secure service-to-service communication.
9. Instrument observability: logging, metrics, tracing, and structured error handling.
10. Uphold and evolve the architecture and engineering standards through technical design and code review.
11. Mentor engineers and raise the quality bar across the team.

Requirements

1. Proven full-stack delivery across a React/TypeScript frontend and a Python (or comparable) backend.
2. Sound judgment on architecture, API design, and data modeling, with the ability to articulate trade-offs.
3. Rigorous testing discipline and comfort with TDD and high coverage standards.
4. Ability to work with LLM/GenAI systems; direct experience preferred, though strong engineers eager to learn are welcome.
5. Technical leadership: thoughtful code review, clear technical writing, and a focus on root-cause fixes.

Nice to Have

1. Production experience with LLM/agent systems (LangGraph, LangChain, or similar).
2. Media or video pipelines: encoding, timeline editors, or serverless rendering.

Fifteen professional sports teams use our product every day. You would be the engineer who owns it.

Pixology is an AI-native platform for the sponsorship economy. Sports teams use us to turn their sponsorship inventory and a brand's objectives into visual concepts, tailored pitches and the films that win deals. Work that used to take a designer two weeks now takes hours.

We are live with fifteen teams across nine leagues, including clubs in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL and MLS. Three founders, out of MIT. You would be our first engineering hire in India.

THE HONEST VERSION OF THIS JOB

Our CTO built this platform largely with AI coding tools. It works. Real customers, real usage, real revenue. It also has the shape you would expect from that: patterns that differ between files, test coverage that is thin in places, and decisions nobody wrote down.

You are not joining to maintain somebody's tidy codebase. You are joining to take ownership of a working product that needs a proper engineer's hands on it, and then to build the next two years of it.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

The whole stack. Frontend, backend services, database, API integrations. There is nobody else to hand a ticket to.

Applied AI. Generative models that turn sponsorship inventory and brand context into visual concepts and pitch material. Production AI, not a demo.

Evaluation infrastructure. Harnesses and regression tests that let us compare models, validate prompt changes, and track output quality, latency and inference cost. This barely exists today and it matters more every month.

The media pipeline. Timeline-based video editing. Clip trimming and sequencing, transitions, audio synchronisation, rendering and export. Genuinely hard engineering, and the part customers notice most.

Shipping. Design, build, test, deploy. Customer bugs come to you.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Around five years building production software, with real ownership of something live.

Strong across the stack, with a view on where logic belongs rather than just the ability to write both halves.

You have inherited a codebase you did not write and made it better without rewriting it.

Working knowledge of LLM APIs and the practical tradeoffs: cost, latency, reliability, evaluation.

You debug well. Given an unfamiliar system and a failing case, you find the cause rather than the symptom.

Nice to have: media processing (FFmpeg, rendering pipelines), computer vision, evaluation tooling, early-stage experience, any interest in sport.

COMPENSATION AND SETUP

40 to 50 LPA, all cash. No equity, and we would rather say so now than in your third interview. We have taken the view that we would rather pay you properly today than hand you a number on a slide that may be worth nothing in four years.

Hybrid. At least one day a week together in our Basavanagudi office, the rest is yours. If you live in South Bengaluru, you never touch the Outer Ring Road.

We're hiring a Full-Stack Engineer who is equally comfortable building a polished Next.js interface and a reliable NestJS API behind it. You'll build customer-facing products, including AI-powered features like chat interfaces, streaming responses, and agent-driven workflows. You'll own features end to end, from database schema to UI, and use AI tools daily to ship faster without lowering the quality bar.

• Daily, hands-on use of at least one AI coding tool (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, Windsurf, or similar)

• Basic understanding of how LLMs work: context windows, hallucinations, token cost, and why outputs vary

What is the role all about?

We're hiring full-stack engineers who build with AI, not the traditional way. You should be fluent in modern web engineering, primarily Node.js, and just as fluent in using LLMs and AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, and similar) to ship fast. Work that once took a month should take a week; what took a week should take a day.

The role spans a range, from architecting backends for non-trivial products like assistants and agents, to rapidly turning a requirement into a clean, customer-facing app or MVP. Be strong in at least one area, be comfortable across the system as a whole, and tell us where you're strongest so we can place you accordingly.

What will you do?

• Plan, build, and ship product features end-to-end, with AI embedded where it has the most impact.
• Integrate LLMs and AI APIs into production-grade applications.
• Use AI tools to prototype, build, and deliver at high speed without sacrificing quality.
• Design scalable APIs and data models with Node.js, Express.js, and MongoDB.
• Build responsive, performant, customer-facing interfaces with React/Next.js.
• Contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions.

What are we looking for?

AI leverage: 

• You've shipped real things using LLMs or AI APIs and instinctively reach for AI to move faster. 
• Comfortable with prompt engineering and judging AI output for production-readiness.

Engineering depth and delivery:

• Solid fundamentals: problem-solving, data structures, and how systems fit together. 
• At least 2+ years across frontend (React/Next.js), APIs (Node.js/Express.js), and databases (MongoDB). 
• You write clean, production-grade code and you ship.
• Knowledge of application security or ethical hacking is an advantage.
