About TorqWars

TorqWars is building India's competitive RC racing. We are a sports-entertainment business running on three engines: experience-led arenas with timed racing, a league, and a D2C store for RC cars and parts. Our first arena opens soon in Bandra, Mumbai, and we are backed by The Foundery. Our mission is to make battling with machines a real sport. You will be part of the founding team that runs our events and our first arena.

Role overview

You will handle logistics and on-ground execution for our racing events, tournaments and brand activations at malls, colleges and corporate offices, and support arena operations. You will work with the Head of Arena Operations and the Head of Community & Events.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and execute event logistics: equipment, transport, set-up and dismantling.
  • Set up the race track, timing system and charging stations, and check batteries before each event.
  • Brief event crew and marshals, and manage rosters.
  • Book and coordinate vendors: sound, lights, staging, printing and transport.
  • Maintain equipment inventory, checklists and incident records.
  • Coordinate with venues on permissions and paperwork.
  • Support the arena fit-out by tracking deliveries and vendors.

KPIs

Events delivered on time and on budget, set-up time, equipment readiness and safety record.

Requirements

  • 1+ years in events, brand activations, venue operations or production. College fest operations experience counts.
  • Hands-on set-up and dismantling experience, not just coordination.
  • Available on evenings, weekends and event days.
  • Organised and calm under pressure.

Good to have

Core team experience at college fests such as Techfest or Mood Indigo. Interest in RC cars or similar hobbies. Basic electronics. A two-wheeler or driving licence.

How we assess

A quick AI voice interview with your camera on (about 20 minutes, five main questions): an event you set up with your own hands (the load-in plan, what went wrong and how you fixed it), how you managed vendors and crew, a TorqWars pop-up race scenario, and what your last manager would say about you. No RC knowledge is needed; we train you on the cars and the sport. We hire for attitude: energy, reliability, honesty and people who learn fast. Recent hands-on work matters more than total years, and we speak to references before any offer.

Your first 90 days

An event kit, checklists and a vendor list that make every set-up repeatable; set-up time falling event after event; and your first events delivered on time, on budget and safely.

What we offer

Fast growth into an events or arena manager role, and hands-on exposure to building a new sport from the ground up.

Location

Mumbai: our Worli office, the Bandra arena and event venues across the city.

Hiring process

A short AI interview, a call with the hiring manager, a 1-hour assignment for shortlisted candidates, a trial day at one of our events with reference checks, and an offer within 1 week.

When you apply, share

  • An event you set up or ran, and your role in it.
  • Current and expected CTC, and notice period.

You will work directly with the founders and own how your function is built from the ground up.

Role overview

You will own our first arena in Bandra end to end, from the final stage of fit-out to daily operations: team, equipment, safety, retail and the arena P&L. The operating model you build here becomes the playbook for every arena that follows. In the first few months you will be on the floor every day, hire and train the first team yourself, and lead operations through the launch.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete fit-out, close snag lists, receive stock and open on the agreed launch date.
  • Get licences, permissions and insurance in place with our admin and finance team.
  • Run trial days and a soft launch before opening.
  • Manage daily operations: opening and closing, staff rosters, front desk, and maintenance of tracks and cars.
  • Hire, train and manage the floor team: floor managers, game marshals and hosts.
  • Own safety: battery charging and storage, crowd management and incident reporting.
  • Manage in-store retail sales and inventory.
  • Own the arena P&L: revenue, staff costs, vendor costs and margins.
  • Deliver tournaments and events at the arena with the community and events team.

KPIs

Launch date, equipment uptime, footfall, revenue per visitor, monthly margin and safety record.

Requirements

  • Operations experience at family entertainment centres (FECs), gaming zones, retail stores or multi-site businesses, with hands-on floor work in the last 2–3 years. Senior candidates are welcome, and so are candidates with 3–5 years who have already run a site.
  • Has opened at least one venue or store end to end: budget, vendors, permissions and hiring.
  • Has managed frontline teams through weekends and peak days.
  • Experience with safety SOPs and incident management in public spaces.
  • Comfortable with budgets and a site P&L.

Good to have

Go-karting, bowling, trampoline park, gaming arena or amusement park operations. Basic knowledge of batteries and electronics. Has run an outlet or business of your own.

How we assess

A quick AI voice interview with your camera on (about 20 minutes, five main questions): a venue or store you opened or ran (the timeline, the budget, the team you hired and the numbers you moved), a safety incident and how you handled it, a TorqWars arena launch scenario to plan out loud, and what your last manager would say about you. We do not expect you to know RC cars; we will teach you the sport. We hire for intelligence, energy and integrity. Specific, honest answers score well; rehearsed ones do not. We speak to references before any offer.

Your first 90 days

The arena open on the agreed date with licences, insurance and SOPs in place; the first floor team hired and trained; and a daily dashboard for footfall, revenue, uptime and safety running.

What we offer

Leadership of a new venue format, 0.1–0.5% ESOPs (vesting as set out in the offer letter), direct work with the founders, and growth into a multi-arena role. A two-year mission: open our first arenas and write the playbook every new arena runs on.

Location

Work from office, Mumbai: on-site at our Bandra arena, with time at our Worli office.

Hiring process

A short AI interview, a call with a founder, a short assignment for shortlisted candidates, a site visit in Bandra with reference checks, a final conversation with our co-founder, and an offer within 2 weeks of the first call.

When you apply, share

  • A venue or store you opened or managed, with team size and one result you improved.
  • Current and expected CTC, and notice period.

How you will work

You own the execution on your brands. Nobody will chase you for status, and nobody will hand you a process for a situation you have not seen before. You build it, write it down, and the next brand goes live faster because of it.

Expect the first few fortnights to be manual. Trackers maintained by hand, follow-ups by phone, reports rebuilt every week. What we want you doing alongside that is noticing which of it should never be manual again: the same status update, the same device reconciliation, the same weekly report.

You will be encouraged to automate those yourself with the AI and workflow tools available to you, rather than waiting on an engineering sprint. You will not be doing this alone. Sales, Product, Engineering, AI and Logistics teams sit around you and will build what you ask for. What nobody will do is tell you what to ask for.

What you will do

  • Run brand and store onboarding. Work with the client's point of contact to collect store, employee and device details. Plan the go-live, run the store training, track timelines, and keep the implementation tracker honest.
  • Own devices and logistics. Allocation, mapping, dispatch, delivery, replacement and recovery. Keep accurate records of active, faulty, spare and returned devices, and stay on top of couriers and vendors until things actually arrive.
  • Watch the daily operations.- Monitor recordings and data uploads, track store and salesperson activity, and spot the gap before the client does. Handle escalations, and follow up internally until the issue is actually closed rather than acknowledged.
  • Report accurately. -Daily and weekly operational reports on adherence, recordings, store activity and device health. This is heavy Excel and Sheets work: pivot tables, lookups, QUERY, FILTER. The numbers have to be right, because people make decisions on them.
  • Coordinate with clients. -Be the operational contact for the brand's teams. Share updates, understand what they are asking for, and make sure every commitment you make is one that gets delivered.
  • Coordinate the team.- Allocate tasks across the operations and implementation team, track completion, run regular reviews, and help new joiners get up to speed on how things are done.
  • Improve and automate the process. -Write the SOPs and checklists, kill the repetitive manual work, and make each implementation cleaner than the last.

What we are looking for

  1. Must have 3 to 5 years in operations, implementation, project coordination or customer success operations
  2. A logistics or e-commerce background is the closest match to what this job actually asks for, and is what we would prefer
  3. Strong Excel and Google Sheets. Formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP, QUERY and FILTER should be things you use, not things you have heard of
  4. Relentless follow-up. Most of this job is making sure something that was promised actually happened
  5. Good communication and the confidence to handle a client escalation without needing somebody senior on the call
  6. Fluent English and Hindi. A third Indian language counts for a lot, since you will be talking to store teams and not only to HQ
  7. Ownership. You should be the person others stop following up with, because you have already closed it

Good to have

  • Basic SQL, or experience writing report requirements for a technical team
  • Used LLMs for daily tasks, both professional and personal
  • Exposure to SaaS, AI or a startup environment, and to hardware deployed in the field
  • Experience coordinating a small team, or running several clients and projects at once

About TorqWars

TorqWars is building India's competitive RC racing. Our first arena opens soon in Bandra, Mumbai, and we are backed by The Foundery. Our mission is to make battling with machines a real sport. You will work directly with the founders and own how your function is built from the ground up.

Role overview

You will own the TorqWars player community and our events: tournaments, leagues, racing events and brand activations. You will grow a community of players who come back, compete and bring their friends, and turn our events into a format we can run across every arena. In the first few months you will run the events and community channels yourself, and build the team as both grow.

Key responsibilities: Community

  • Build and manage the player community: how people discover us, sign up, play, return and refer others.
  • Run community channels such as WhatsApp groups, Instagram and Discord.
  • Build ambassador, creator, campus and hobby-club programmes.
  • Create community content with the creative team: player stories, event recaps, creator features, leaderboards and rivalries.

Key responsibilities: Events

  • Design event and tournament formats: rules, heats, scoring and run of show.
  • Manage production: staging, timing, sound, lights and the safety plan.
  • Source and brief vendors and event crew, and lead on the day.
  • Run a post-event review after every event and apply the learnings to the next one.

KPIs

Active returning players, new players per event, organic sign-ups without paid ads, events delivered on time and safely, and participant and spectator feedback.

Requirements

  • Experience across community management, field or experiential marketing, and live events. Senior candidates are welcome, and so are candidates with 3–5 years who have built and grown a community themselves.
  • Proof of retention: repeat attendance, retention or referral numbers, not just reach or impressions.
  • Has owned events or event IPs end to end: budget, vendors, run of show and on-ground management.
  • Has built a programme or format that kept running after you moved on.
  • Willing to be on the ground at events, including evenings and weekends.

Good to have

Motorsport, RC, karting, gaming or esports. Campus and youth marketing. Sports or brand partnerships. Startup or founder experience.

How we assess

A quick AI voice interview with your camera on (about 20 minutes, five main questions): a community you built (who came back, why, and the repeat numbers), an event that broke on the day and what you changed, a TorqWars race-night scenario to plan out loud, and what your last manager would say about you. We do not expect you to know RC cars; we will teach you the sport. We hire for intelligence, energy and integrity. Recent hands-on work matters more than total years, and we speak to references before any offer.

Your first 90 days

The first race format defined and run end to end, the first ambassadors and community channels active, and a returning-player baseline we track every week.

What we offer

Ownership of community and events from day one, 0.1–0.5% ESOPs (vesting as set out in the offer letter), direct work with the founders, and the chance to build a new sport in India.

Location

Work from office, Mumbai (Bandra and Worli).

Hiring process

A short AI interview, a call with a founder, a short assignment for shortlisted candidates, an in-person meeting in Mumbai with reference checks, a final conversation with our co-founder, and an offer within 2 weeks of the first call.

When you apply, share

  • A community you built where people came back, with the repeat numbers.
  • An event you owned end to end, and your role in it.
  • Current and expected CTC, and notice period.
