JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position : Linux BSP developer

Location : Bangalore 

Experience : 3 to 10 Years 

Requirements :

1. 3 to 10 Years of proficiency working on C and Embedded Linux BSP (Board Support Package).
2. Highly proficient and possess working in Linux kernel and Linux device drivers.
3. Hands on experience on working on platform of MIPS, ARM etc.
4. Working knowledge and strong understanding of Device Tree.
5. Understanding of Make files, their customization and Cross Compilation and Shell scripting.
6. Experience in working on U-boot.
7. Video and Camera domain knowledge will be a BIG advantage.
8. Knowledge of secure boot would be an added advantage.

Role: Sr. Principle Engineer -Firmware

Experience: 8 to 10 Yrs.

Job description:

Primary skills:

-        At least 8 years of working experience on embedded firmware development

-        Experience in multithreaded programming, network programming (wired and wireless protocols), real-time programming, cross-platform and cross-language development

-        Prior experience with overseeing board bring-up and validation

-        Hands-on experience on driver development for various sensors,Flash,PMIC

-        Working knowledge of communication protocols like UART, I2C, SPI, USB, Ethernet, etc

-        Product development experience with range of microcontroller/microprocessor architectures, adoption of bare-metal, RTOS and Linux operating systems on new platforms

-        Minimum 2+ years of experience doing hands-on software development in Bluetooth domain; application, framework, Bluetooth stack or drivers

-        Working Experience In display driver development with MIPI/LVDS/QSPI will be a value addition

-        Experience with hardware lab equipment such as digital scope, logic analyser and JTAG

-        Understanding of embedded development constraints and system performance

-        Hands-on Experience on System level integration

-        Experience with programming in C/C++/python

-        Experience in reading schematics

Secondary skills:

Embedded System Engineer

Skills:

C Programming

Must be exceptionally good in Embedded Systems C programming, testing/ debugging and in advanced C concepts

Capable of working in Embedded Systems based projects based on 8 and 32 bit microcontrollers (STM32)

Experience with communication protocols and peripherals like UART, SPI, RTC, Ethernet

Hands on experience in IDE like Keil, AVR Studio, MPLAB

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering with 1-3 years of relevant experience.
• Highly experienced in Embedded C, C++ coding as per MISRA standards
• Experience in firmware programming for 8 bit, 16 bit and 32 bit controllers.
• Knowledgeable in Linker Scripts, Make files & firmware debugging using JTAG or on the UART console. 
• Experienced in Communication peripherals like SPI, UART, I2C, CAN, etc.

• Ideation, designing, prototyping, and developing as per product requirements.

• Expertise in system architecture and design for Embedded software systems.
• Develop modular Embedded Code to port into different projects.
• Experience on Real Time Systems and Scheduling mechanisms
• Development experience in "middleware" / “application” / Low layer.
• Experience with developing embedded code for networking technologies like TCP/IP and UDP would be a plus.
• Document state machine diagrams, flow charts to understand the system architecture
• Working closely with Design teams to understand Hardware Implementation.
• Develop Test methods, in some cases automated test cases to test the firmware code and support hardware engineers.
• Use Debuggers, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other necessary electrical tools to debug the code for problem-solving.
• Excellent reading skills for complete understanding of technical documents such as Processor Architecture Specifications and MCU hardware manuals, schematics etc.
• Ability to generate ideas in response to complex issues and execute on solutions.
• Python programming is a big plus.

What you’ll do at Ather:

A successful candidate is expected to lead the Firmware development and integration effort for various Ather products and be responsible for qualifying and integrating FW at various stages with HW. Responsibilities include:

• Understanding requirements from different stakeholders and translating these to application features

• Writing high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines

• Unit-testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

• Performing functional and non-functional testing

• Troubleshooting and debugging applications

• Designing creative prototypes according to specifications

• Evaluating existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features

• Developing technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

• Identifying and communicating possible risks along with preventive and corrective measures

• Designing HW/SW integration while working with HW/Algorithms/Cloud teams to deliver an integrated solution. 

Here’s what we are looking for: 

Must have: 

• ECU Software development experience (any of the ARM based Auto ECUs Body Electronics/Infotainment/ Powertrain/Cluster) 

• Previous experience with Low level firmware, Boot loaders, Device Drivers development 

• Hands on Experience Communication Protocols CAN, I2C, SPI, RS232

• Experience with static analyser, JTAG tools etc…

• Knowledge in Assembly and compilers

• Strong testing & debugging skills, experience with logic analysers

• Language: C, C++

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of HW design for ECUs

• Experience with UDS, AutoSAR, ISO26262, MISRA Guidelines 

• Previous experience with SIL and HIL Testing as well as Test case generation for the same.

• Hand on experience in using CAN tools & CAPL Scripts, Bus Master

• BE/B.tech/B.Sc is minimum req with minimum 2-6 years of prior industry experience.
