Embedded C developers

We are hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to develop firmware and low-level software for embedded devices and connected products.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware in Embedded C and C++ for microcontroller-based systems
• Build real-time applications on RTOS platforms such as FreeRTOS
• Write and maintain device drivers for peripherals (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN)
• Develop and customise Embedded Linux components
• Debug hardware and software issues using oscilloscopes, JTAG and debuggers
• Work with hardware teams on board bring-up and testing

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in embedded software development
• Strong Embedded C and C++ programming skills
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers (ARM Cortex, STM32, ESP32 or similar)
• Experience with RTOS and device driver development
• Exposure to Embedded Linux is a plus

Description:

• Strong experience with 32-bit microcontrollers such as STM32, NXP, Renesas, TI, Microchip, etc.
• Excellent knowledge of C/C++ programming and exposure to Assembly.
• Strong experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, µC/OS, embOS, VxWorks, QNX, etc.
• Hands-on experience in developing HAL, BSP and low-level device drivers.
• Strong understanding of microcontroller peripherals and interfaces** including ADC, DAC, I2C, SPI, UART, CAN/CAN FD, RS485, DMA, Ethernet, SD/eMMC, SDIO, etc.
• Strong experience with Automotive communication protocols such as CAN, CAN FD, LIN, J1939 and UDS.
• Knowledge of AUTOSAR concepts and architecture is an advantage.
• Experience with automotive diagnostics, ECU communication, and vehicle network architecture.
• Hands-on experience using Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, Function Generator, Multimeter and other debugging equipment.
• Experience in board bring-up, hardware-software integration and debugging of embedded boards.
• Ability to debug power, clock, reset, communication interfaces, and peripheral-related hardware issues at board level.
• Good understanding of schematics, PCB layouts and electronic circuits around microcontrollers and ARM-based systems.
• Ability to work closely with hardware engineers for design reviews, component selection, hardware validation, and issue resolution.
• Experience with prototype board testing, hardware validation, and root-cause analysis of HW/SW issues.
• Experience in reverse engineering and debugging of embedded systems.
• Strong understanding of embedded system architecture and system-level design.
• Experience with Embedded Linux and/or RTOS-based systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of networking concepts including OSI layers, TCP/IP stacks and common IP protocols is a plus.
• Knowledge of NMEA/NMEA 2000 standards is a plus.
• Exposure to ASPICE, ISO 26262, MISRA-C and automotive cybersecurity is an advantage.
• Experience with automotive development and debugging tools such as Vector CANoe/CANalyzer is a plus.

Roles & Responsibilities:

The right person for this position should have 7+ years of experience in Embedded Systems, preferably with strong exposure to Automotive Embedded Systems.

• Proficiency in C programming language

• Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers

• Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN

• Familiarity with software development tools such as Git, Jira, and Jenkins

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field

• Experience with wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth, LoRa & Wi-Fi

• Knowledge of real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, uC/OS-II, or VxWorks

• Experience with Agile software development methodologies
