JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position : Linux BSP developer

Location : Bangalore 

Experience : 3 to 10 Years 

Requirements :

1. 3 to 10 Years of proficiency working on C and Embedded Linux BSP (Board Support Package).
2. Highly proficient and possess working in Linux kernel and Linux device drivers.
3. Hands on experience on working on platform of MIPS, ARM etc.
4. Working knowledge and strong understanding of Device Tree.
5. Understanding of Make files, their customization and Cross Compilation and Shell scripting.
6. Experience in working on U-boot.
7. Video and Camera domain knowledge will be a BIG advantage.
8. Knowledge of secure boot would be an added advantage.

Required Skills:

• 4+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• 2 - 4 years of hands-on experience in C/C++ programming.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP internals and common network protocols such as DHCP, DNS, IPV4/IPV6, NAT
• In-depth knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols (Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF)
• In-depth knowledge of RDK-B architecture, TR-069/TR-181, and networking stacks
• Work on TR-069, TR-181 data models, and DOCSIS / DSL / GPON technologies
• Experience and knowledge on IEEE802.11/Wi-Fi protocols such as WPA, RADIUS, WPS, 802.11n/ac/ax/be, mesh networking

C, C++ , Linux , Device Driver , Linux Internals ,

Processor knowledge like Arm , Intel , Protocol SPI , I2C . Networking experience,

L2 protocols knowledge, knowledge on Python/Perl ,

Broadcom DNX/XGS device experience is desirable,

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement embedded software applications for IoT devices using C programming language.
• Develop and maintain firmware for Raspberry Pi-based systems, ensuring optimal performance and compatibility with various IoT sensors and peripherals.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define and document system requirements and specifications.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of embedded software to identify and resolve any issues or bugs.
• Optimize code and improve system performance to enhance the overall user experience.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in embedded systems and IoT development.
• Work closely with the product management team to translate customer requirements into technical specifications.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the team during the development and deployment phases.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in C programming language with a solid understanding of embedded systems.
• Experience developing software for Raspberry Pi or similar single-board computers.
• Knowledge of IoT protocols and technologies such as MQTT, CoAP, TCP/IP, and wireless communication (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.).
• Familiarity with various sensors, actuators, and electronic components commonly used in IoT devices.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in embedded systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Prior experience in developing IoT applications or working on IoT projects is a plus.

Desired Candidate profile:

• 5+ years of Embedded/Linux SW Development relevant Experience in Embedded C++. 
• Expert knowledge in writing software for embedded Systems (Embedded C++ language).
• Experience on OTA would be an added advantage
• Work experience in software development on bare metal, RTOS or Internal Linux. 
• Work experience in developing firmware for 8/16/32 bit microcontrollers (ARM, RISC etc)
• Good understanding w.r.t usage of 1. RTOS like MQX. 
• Bootloader and software update concepts. 
• Communication protocols like TCP/IP,MQTT. 
• Socket programming in Linux environment. 
• Good knowledge on protocols like (RS485, SPI, I2C, ADCs, CAN, LIN) 
• Knowledge of Blue-tooth communication protocols for BLE 4.2/5.1. 
• Proficient in the use of embedded SW Development tool chain (Flash/ debug tool chain, IDE). 
• Version Control Systems –GIT 
• Should have detailed knowledge on microcontrollers/microprocessors 
• Experience in scripting languages like Shell / CAPL / Make/Python etc. 
• Experience in using tools like Logiscope / Function Generator / Oscilloscope, etc. 
• Good knowledge in reading schematics and datasheets. 
• Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills. 
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Must be a self-starter. 
• Ability to work as part of a dedicated project team and independently

Mandatory Skills

-Must have experience and Good understanding about pointers & memory in C/C++

-Must have experience in Unix/Linux IPC (semaphore, shared memory, socket, multi thread)

-Must have Debug skills : gdb, coredump analysis, network packet analysis

-Must have experience in Source code syntax parser (Preferably lex, yacc, bison, etc.)

-Must have worked on build tools : Makefiles, make, etc.

-Database : Preferably Oracle Good at SQL and stored procedures

Optional Skills

-Telegram development using C/C++

-Finance/Industry domain knowledge

-Japanese speaking skills

• Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and report RCA, propose solutions(how to fix)
