MANDATORY CRITERIA:

• It's a Contractual role for a particular project ongoing in the company, duration will be 1 year or may exceed as per the project requirement, After that the candidate will be kept on permanent role.

• Candidate should be comfortable for directly visiting and working with client's place.

• 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux Device Driver development
• Strong experience with Linux kernel programming & memory management
• Experience with Zephyr OS / device driver model (porting bare-metal drivers).
• Familiarity with RTOS linux kernel internals and hardware protocols (They mainly use AXI protocol, i2c, spi).
• Strong knowledge of PCIe and DMA drivers
• Proficiency in C / C++ programming languages
• Experience working with hardware interfaces/protocols (AXI, I2C, SPI)

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Proven experience in developing Linux Device Drivers.
• Preferred experience in Zephyr (need to port bare metal drivers to zephyr OS/device driver model).
• Strong knowledge of PCIe and DMA drivers (Good to know Xilinx's IPs like AXI-DMA, XDMA etc).
• Expertise in Linux Memory Management.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages.
• Preferred familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS), linux kernel internals and hardware protocols (They mainly use AXI protocol, i2c, spi).

Senior Embedded Software Engineer – U-boot, Linux Kernel & Device Drivers

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Embedded Software Engineer experienced in Embedded C development, Linux Kernel programming, and Device Driver design. The ideal candidate will contribute to low-level software development for embedded systems, working closely with hardware teams to design, implement, and optimize drivers and kernel modules for next-generation platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and debug embedded software in C for SoM(System On Modules).
• Develop and maintain board support packages (BSPs), bootloaders, and low-level firmware.
• Work on real-time performance optimization, memory management, and inter-process communication.
• Develop and maintain Linux kernel modules and device drivers for various peripherals (I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO, USB, PCIe, HDMI, etc.).
• Collaborate with hardware engineers for bring-up, debugging, and validation of new boards.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in Embedded C.
• Deep understanding of Linux Kernel internals, device driver architecture, and hardware software interaction.
• Familiarity with ARM architecture, SoC bring-up, and YOCTO environments is a plus.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills:

• Exposure to Yocto Project, U-Boot, and bootloader customization.
• Experience with embedded Linux distributions or open-source contributions.
• Understanding of hardware schematics and signal analysis (oscilloscope, logic analyzer).

Desired Candidate Profile For Embedded Developer Role

1. Proficient in C language
2. Proficient in Linux application development, TCP/IP protocol, multi-threaded programming, basic encryption algorithm,
3. familiar with Linux system commonly used API and commands, proficient in basic debugging means and methods.
4. Proficient in STM32 and other SCM development, skilled in using Keil and other integrated development environment,
5. proficient in serial port communication programming, Bluetooth, GPIO, SPI, EEPROM and other development, proficient in basic debugging means and methods.
6. Have basic hardware skills and knowledge, can draw PCB and read circuit diagrams, can use an oscilloscope and other tools for debugging.
7. Familiar with embedded system, free-RTOS, RT-Thread, etc.
8. Fluency in both spoken and written English.

Basic Qualification: BE / Btech Computer Science

Desirable Skills:

1.Software development using Embedded C, C++ with programming standards (MISRA)

2.Knowledge of bus systems, which are used in the automotive industry, like CAN, LIN, I2C, SPI, etc)

3.Software development processes –A-SPICE V-cycle

4.Experience with development of control units for the automotive industry, especially experience with the development based on AUTOSTAR basic software.

5. Experience in the automotive industry according to common development and parameterization tools (i.e. Vector CANoe).

6.Knowledge of standards for safety-critical software (ISO 26262) is a plus.
