Devops Engineer

About the Role:

We are looking for a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer to join our Cloud Operations team in Bangalore. This hybrid role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in AWS and a strong background in application migration from on-premises to cloud environments. You'll play a key role in driving cloud adoption, optimizing infrastructure, and ensuring seamless cloud operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
• Lead and support application migration projects from on-prem to cloud.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
• Monitor cloud environments and optimize cost, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to implement DevOps best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.

Required Skills:

• 3–5 years of experience in AWS cloud environment.
• Proven experience with on-premises to cloud application migration.
• Strong understanding of AWS core services (EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, etc.).
• Solid scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar).

Good to Have:

• Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
• Exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or AWS CodePipeline.

• Strong experience working with tools and platforms like Helm charts, Circle CI, Jenkins,
• and/or Codefresh
• Excellent knowledge of AWS offerings around Cloud and DevOps
• Strong expertise in containerization platforms like Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes & Rancher
• Should be familiar with leading Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
• Strong experience in Python, Shell Scripting, Ansible, and Terraform
• Good command over monitoring tools like Datadog, Zabbix, Elk, Grafana, CloudWatch, Stackdriver, Prometheus, JFrog, Nagios, etc.
• Experience with Linux/Unix systems administration.

As a DevOps Engineer, you :

- Will work collaboratively with the engineering and customer support teams to deploy and operate our systems. 

- Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.

- Help automate and streamline our operations and processes. 

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our test and production environments. 

- Take control of various mandates and change management processes to ensure compliance for various certifications (PCI and ISO 27001 in particular) 

- Monitor and optimize the usage of various cloud services. 

- Setup and enforce CI/CD processes and practices

Skills required :

- Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, ELB, S3, SES, to name a few)

- Strong background in Linux/Unix administration and hardening 

- Experience with automation using Ansible, Terraform or equivalent 

- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools (Jenkins) 

- Experience with container related technologies (docker, lxc, rkt, docker swarm, kubernetes)

- Working understanding of code and script (Python, Perl, Ruby, Java)

- Working understanding of SQL and databases 

- Working understanding of version control system (GIT is preferred) 

- Managing IT operations, setting up best practices and tuning them from time-totime. 

- Ensuring that process overheads do not reduce the productivity and effectiveness of small team. - Willingness to explore and learn new technologies and continuously refactor thetools and processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for design, implementation, and continuous improvement on automated CI/CD infrastructure
• Displays technical leadership and oversight of implementation and deployment planning, system integration, ongoing data validation processes, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and sustainability of technical solutions
• Responsible for designing topology to meet requirements for uptime, availability, scalability, robustness, fault tolerance & security
• Implement proactive measures for automated detection and resolution of recurring operational issues
• Lead operational support team manage incidents, document root cause and tracking preventive measures
• Identifying and deploying cybersecurity measures by continuously validating/fixing vulnerability assessment reports and risk management
• Responsible for the design and development of tools, installation procedures
• Develops and maintains accurate estimates, timelines, project plans, and status reports
• Organize and maintain packaging and deployment of various internal modules and third-party vendor libraries
• Responsible for the employment, timely performance evaluation, counselling, employee development, and discipline of assigned employees.
• Participates in calls and meetings with customers, vendors, and internal teams on regular basis.
• Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience with good technical knowledge regarding build, release, and systems engineering

Technical Skills:

• Experience with DevOps toolchains such as Docker, Rancher, Kubernetes, Bitbucket
• Experience with Apache, Nginx, Tomcat, Prometheus ,Grafana
• Ability to learn/use a wide variety of open-source technologies and tools
• Sound understanding of cloud technologies preferably AWS technologies
• Linux, Windows, Scripting, Configuration Management, Build and Release Engineering
• 6 years of experience in DevOps practices, with a good understanding of DevOps and Agile principles
• Good scripting skills (Python/Perl/Ruby/Bash)
• Experience with standard continuous integration tools Jenkins/Bitbucket Pipelines
• Work on software configuration management systems (Puppet/Chef/Salt/Ansible)
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook) and other business productivity tools
• Working knowledge on HSM and PKI (Good to have)

DevOps 

Engineers : Min 3 to 5 Years

• Implementing & supporting CI/CD/CT pipelines at scale.  
• Knowledge and experience using Chef, Puppet or Ansible automation to deploy and be able to manage Linux systems in production and CI environments.
