This is a full-time role for a Lead DevOps Engineer at Spark Eighteen. We are seeking an experienced DevOps professional to lead our infrastructure strategy, design resilient systems, and drive continuous improvement in our deployment processes. In this role, you will architect scalable solutions, mentor junior engineers, and ensure the highest standards of reliability and security across our cloud infrastructure. The job location is flexible with preference for the Delhi NCR region.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the DevOps/SRE team
• Define and drive DevOps strategy and roadmaps
• Oversee infrastructure automation and CI/CD at scale
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and QA teams to integrate DevOps practices
• Ensure security, compliance, and high availability of platforms
• Own incident response, postmortems, and root cause analysis
• Budgeting, team hiring, and performance evaluation

Requirements

Technical Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of professional DevOps experience with demonstrated progression.
• Strong architecture and leadership background
• Deep hands-on knowledge of infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and cloud
• Proven experience with monitoring, security, and governance
• Effective stakeholder and project management
• Experience with tools like Jenkins, ArgoCD, Terraform, Vault, ELK, etc.

Responsibilities

 Provisioning and de-provisioning AWS accounts for internal customers

 Work alongside systems and development teams to support the transition and operation of client websites/applications in and out of AWS.

 Deploying, managing, and operating AWS environments

 Identifying appropriate use of AWS operational best practices

 Estimating AWS costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms

 Keep technical documentation up to date

 Proactively keep up to date on AWS services and developments

 Create (where appropriate) automation, in order to streamline provisioning and de-provisioning processes

 Lead certain data/service migration projects

Job Requirements

 Experience provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on AWS

 Experience with Azure/AWS.

 Capabilities to provide AWS operations and deployment guidance and best practices throughout the lifecycle of a project

 Experience with application/data migration to/from AWS

 Experience with NGINX and the HTTP protocol.

 Experience with configuration and management software such as GIT  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 Deployment experience using common AWS technologies like VPC, and regionally distributed EC2 instances, Docker, and more.

 Ability to work in a collaborative environment

Responsibilities

• A technology Professional who understands software development and can solve IT Operational and deployment challenges using software engineering tools and processes. This position requires an understanding of both Software development (Dev) and deployment

Operations (Ops)

• Identity manual processes and automate them using various DevOps automation tools

• Maintain the organization’s growing cloud infrastructure

• Monitor and maintain DevOps environment stability

• Collaborate with distributed Agile teams to define technical requirements and resolve technical design issues

• Orchestrating builds and test setups using Docker and Kubernetes.

Requirements

• Candidates working for this position should possess at least 5 years of work experience as a DevOps Engineer.

• Candidate should have experience in ELK stack, Kubernetes, and Docker.

• Solid experience in the AWS environment.

• Should have experience in monitoring tools like DataDog or Newrelic.

• Minimum of 5 years experience with code repository management, code merge and quality checks, continuous integration, and automated deployment & management using tools like Jenkins, SVN, Git, Sonar, and Selenium.

• Candidates must possess ample knowledge and experience in system automation, deployment, and implementation.

• Candidates must possess experience in using Linux, Jenkins, and ample experience in configuring and automating the monitoring tools.

• The candidates should also possess experience in the software development process and tools and languages like SaaS, Python, Java, MongoDB, Shell scripting, Python, PostgreSQL, and Git.

• Candidates should demonstrate knowledge in handling distributed data systems.

What You’ll Do

● Deploy, automate and maintain web-scale infrastructure with leading public cloud vendors such as Amazon Web Services, Digital Ocean & Google Cloud Platform.

● Take charge of DevOps activities for CI/CD with the latest tech stacks.

● Acquire industry-recognized, professional cloud certifications (AWS/Google) in the capacity of developer or architect Devise multi-region technical solutions.

● Implementing the DevOps philosophy and strategy across different domains in organisation.

● Build automation at various levels, including code deployment to streamline release process

● Will be responsible for architecture of cloud services

● 24*7 monitoring of the infrastructure

● Use programming/scripting in your day-to-day work

● Have shell experience - for example Powershell on Windows, or BASH on *nix

● Use a Version Control System, preferably git

● Hands on at least one CLI/SDK/API of at least one public cloud ( GCP, AWS, DO)

● Scalability, HA and troubleshooting of web-scale applications.

● Hands on with GCP/AWS Compute & Networking services i.e. Compute Engine, App Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Function, Networking (VPC, Firewall, Load Balancer), Cloud SQL, Datastore.

● DBs: Postgresql, MySQL, Elastic Search, Redis, kafka, MongoDB or other NoSQL systems

● Configuration management tools such as Ansible/Chef/Puppet

Bonus if you have…

● Basic understanding of Networking(routing, switching, dns) and Storage

● Basic understanding of Protocol such as UDP/TCP

• Experience managing any distributed NoSQL system (Kafka/Cassandra/etc.)
• Experience with Containers, Microservices, deployment and service orchestration using Kubernetes, EKS (preferred), AKS or GKE.
• Strong scripting language knowledge, such as Python, Shell
• Experience and a deep understanding of Kubernetes.
• Experience in Continuous Integration and Delivery.
• Work collaboratively with software engineers to define infrastructure and deployment requirements
• Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure
• Ensure configuration and compliance with configuration management tools

2 - 5 Years of Experience in any Programming any language (Polyglot Preferred ) & System Operations • Awareness of Devops & Agile Methodologies • Proficient in leveraging CI and CD tools to automate testing and deployment . • Experience in working in an agile and fast paced environment . • Hands on knowledge of at least one cloud platform (AWS / GCP / Azure). • Cloud networking knowledge: should understand VPC, NATs, and routers. • Contributions to open source is a plus. • Good written communication skills are a must. Contributions to technical blogs / whitepapers will be an added advantage.
