Job Description

Experience: Senior Hardware Engineer 4-7 years

Job Location: Pune

Mandatory:

• Responsible for safety electronics hardware product from requirement till validation with certification body
• Design experience on Digital circuits, Analog circuits and microcontroller based design
• Experience/exposure on board bring-up testing, prototype testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience/exposure on Circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE, LTSpice and able to perform reviews
• Knowledge of schematic capture tools like Mentor Graphics DxDesigner and able to perform reviews
• Perform MATHCAD calculation (i.e. in excel or tool) based on hardware design and able to perform reviews
• Contributes to electronics hardware related functionality safety reviews
• Designs multilayer boards and worked on board stack up products
• Planning, Design, Analysis, Compliance / Precompliance Testing and Manufacturing of electronic board(s), product(s) with system understanding.
• Works closely with other engineering disciplines (e.g. mechatronics, internal and external industrial engineering, technical sales towards customer) to ensure quality, to fulfill the requirements and to reach target costs.
• Provides life cycle analysis of electronic components and suggest alternate for replacement
• Creates hardware documentation e.g. BOM, design and test specifications
• Performs activities after serial launch, e.g. change and obsolescence management.
• Good understanding of variety of electronic components and their function
• Understanding of PCB layout and able to perform Layout review

• Carryout FMEA/DFMEA analysis.

Mandatory Skillsets are as below :

Skill Sets:

• B.Tech. / M.Tech. (any stream)

· Good knowledge in firmware development field with more than 3 years of experience

· Basic knowledge of software life cycle, algorithm and data structure.

· Excellent knowledge of OS, coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems

· Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components.

· Ability to understand the electrical schematics and work closely with electrical team.

· Experience with Real Time Operating Systems and Embedded Linux.

· Mode of network connectivity - good idea about GSM/GPRS, Wifi, Ethernet mode of connections. TCP, MQTT, HTTP mode of connection will be a big plus

· Protocols Like UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, MODBUS, TCP/IP, USB, Bluetooth.

· Experience in modules like Wi-Fi, BLE, Lora WAN, ZIGBEE, RF etc.

· Should have experience in working with TFT and LED displays.

· Extensive experience in micro-controller/microprocessor (like ARM Cortex M, ESP32, STM Chips, NXP, BeagleBone , ESP chips, BeagleBone black, STM Chips, Atmega chips etc.)

What you’ll do at Ather:

A successful candidate is expected to lead the Firmware development and integration effort for various Ather products and be responsible for qualifying and integrating FW at various stages with HW. Responsibilities include:

• Understanding requirements from different stakeholders and translating these to application features

• Writing high quality source code to program complete applications within deadlines

• Unit-testing code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

• Performing functional and non-functional testing

• Troubleshooting and debugging applications

• Designing creative prototypes according to specifications

• Evaluating existing applications to reprogram, update and add new features

• Developing technical documents and handbooks to accurately represent application design and code

• Identifying and communicating possible risks along with preventive and corrective measures

• Designing HW/SW integration while working with HW/Algorithms/Cloud teams to deliver an integrated solution. 

Here’s what we are looking for: 

Must have: 

• ECU Software development experience (any of the ARM based Auto ECUs Body Electronics/Infotainment/ Powertrain/Cluster) 

• Previous experience with Low level firmware, Boot loaders, Device Drivers development 

• Hands on Experience Communication Protocols CAN, I2C, SPI, RS232

• Experience with static analyser, JTAG tools etc…

• Knowledge in Assembly and compilers

• Strong testing & debugging skills, experience with logic analysers

• Language: C, C++

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of HW design for ECUs

• Experience with UDS, AutoSAR, ISO26262, MISRA Guidelines
