JOB TITLE: DevOps Engineer

LOCATION: Remote/Hybrid.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a DevOps Engineer with 1-2 years of experience, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications. Your responsibilities will include automating processes, managing source control, collaborating with project teams, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our development and deployment pipelines.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Develop and maintain automation scripts to facilitate application testing and deployment.
• Manage source control systems to track changes in automation scripts and code.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand test objectives and provide input on testability of requirements.
• Design and implement automation test strategies and testing frameworks.
• Create and execute test cases, writing automation scripts to validate software functionality.
• Work closely with project teams to gather automation requirements and troubleshoot issues.
• Contribute to the setup and enhancement of continuous integration (CI) environments.
• Participate in project meetings to define and agree on automation testing approaches.
• Perform manual testing when required.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE GREAT IN THIS ROLE:

• 1-2 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools such as Jenkins, Git, or equivalent.
• Experience in Automated API Testing, Performance Testing, and Security Testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• ISTQB Certificate or equivalent certification.

5 to 10 years of software development & coding experience

Experience with Infrastructure as Code development (Automation, CICD) AWS CloudFormation, AWS CodeBuild, CodeDeploy are a must have. 

Experience troubleshooting AWS policy or permissions related errors during resource deployments \

Programming experience; preferred Python, PowerShell, bash development experience \

Have Experience with application build automation tools like Apache Maven, Jenkins, Concourse, and Git supporting continuous integration / continuous deployment capabilities (CI/CD) à GitHub and GitHub actions for deployments are must-have skills (Maven, Jenkins, etc. are nice to have)

Have configuration management experience (Chef, Puppet, or Ansible)

Worked in a Development Shop or have SDLC hands on Experience

Familiar with how to write software, test plans, automate and release using modern development methods

We are now seeking a talented and motivated individual to contribute to our product in the Cloud data

protection space. Ability to clearly comprehend customer needs in a cloud environment, excellent

troubleshooting skills, and the ability to focus on problem resolution until completion are a requirement.

Responsibilities Include:

Review proposed feature requirements

Create test plan and test cases

Analyze performance, diagnosis, and troubleshooting

Enter and track defects

Interact with customers, partners, and development teams

Researching customer issues and product initiatives

Provide input for service documentation

Required Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline

3+ years' experience inclusive of Software as a Service and/or DevOps engineering experience

Experience with AWS services like VPC, EC2, RDS, SES, ECS, Lambda, S3, ELB

Experience with technologies such as REST, Angular, Messaging, Databases, etc.

Strong troubleshooting skills and issue isolation skills

Possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal English)

Must be able to work as an individual contributor within a team

Ability to think outside the box

Experience in configuring infrastructure

Knowledge of CI / CD

Desirable skills:

Programming skills in scripting languages (e.g., python, bash)

Knowledge of Linux administration

Knowledge of testing tools/frameworks: TestNG, Selenium, etc

Knowledge of Identity and Security

The candidates should have:

·  Strong knowledge on Windows and Linux OS

·   Experience working in Version Control Systems like git

·  Hands-on experience in tools Docker, SonarQube, Ansible, Kubernetes, ELK.

·  Basic understanding of SQL commands

·  Experience working on Azure Cloud DevOps

Requirement
- 1 to 7 years of experience with relative experience in managing development operations
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- Thorough knowledge of setting up release pipelines, and managing multiple environments like Beta, Staging, UAT, and Production
- Thorough knowledge of best cloud practices and architecture
- Hands-on with benchmarking and performance monitoring
- Identifying various bottlenecks and taking pre-emptive measures to avoid downtime
- Hands-on knowledge with at least one toolset Chef/Puppet/Ansible
- Hands-on with CloudFormation / Terraform or other Infrastructure as code is a plus.  
- Thorough experience with Shell Scripting and should not know to shy away from learning new technologies or programming languages
- Experience with other cloud providers like Azure and GCP is a plus
- Should be open to R&D for creative ways to improve performance while keeping costs low

What do we want the person to do?

- Manage, Monitor and Provision Infrastructure - Majorly on AWS
- Will be responsible for maintaining 100% uptime on production servers (Site Reliability)
- Setting up a release pipeline for current releases. Automating releases for Beta, Staging & Production
- Maintaining near-production replica environments on Beta and Staging
- Automating Releases and Versioning of Static Assets (Experience with Chef/Puppet/Ansible)
- Should have hands-on experience with Build Tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodeBuild etc
- Identify performance gaps and ways to fix them.
- Weekly meetings with Engineering Team to discuss the changes/upgrades. Can be related to code issues/architecture bottlenecks.
- Creative Ways of Reducing Costs of Cloud Computing
- Convert Infrastructure Deployment / Provision to Infrastructure as Code for reusability and scaling.

• Experience working in advanced iterative methodologies such as Agile and Safe.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

Roles and Responsibilities

• 5 - 8 years of experience in Infrastructure setup on Cloud, Build/Release Engineering, Continuous Integration and Delivery, Configuration/Change Management.
• Good experience with Linux/Unix administration and moderate to significant experience administering relational databases such as PostgreSQL, etc.
• Experience with Docker and related tools (Cassandra, Rancher, Kubernetes etc.)
• Experience of working in Config management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with cloud technologies like Azure
• Experience with monitoring and alerting (TICK, ELK, Nagios, PagerDuty)
• Experience with distributed systems and related technologies (NSQ, RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.) is a plus
• Experience with scaling data store technologies is a plus (PostgreSQL, Scylla, Redis) is a plus
• Experience with SSH Certificate Authorities and Identity Management (Netflix BLESS) is a plus
• Experience with multi-domain SSL certs and provisioning a plus (Let's Encrypt) is a plus

• Designing and building infrastructure to support AWS, Azure, and GCP-based Cloud services and infrastructure.
• Creating and utilizing tools to monitor our applications and services in the cloud including system health indicators, trend identification, and anomaly detection.
• Working with development teams to help engineer scalable, reliable, and resilient software running in the cloud.
• Participating in on-call escalation to troubleshoot customer-facing issues
• Analyzing and monitoring performance bottlenecks and key metrics to optimize software and system performance.

• Should have strong experience of a couple of years, in leading DevOps team and planning, defining DevOps roadmap and executing as per the same along with the team

• Designing solutions using one or more AWS features, tools, and technologies such as EC2, EBS, Glacier, S3, ELB, CloudFormation, Lambada, CloudWatch, VPC, RDS, Direct Connect, AWS CLI, REST API
• Design and implement system architecture with AWS cloud - Develop automation scripts, ARM templates, Ansible, Chef, Python, Powershell Knowledge of AWS services and cloud design patterns- Knowledge on Cloud fundamentals like autoscaling, serverless
• Have experience with DevOps and Infrastructure as Code: AWS environment and application automation utilizing CloudFormation and third-party tools. CI/CD pipeline setup utilizing
