Role: Sr. DevOps – Architect

Location: Bangalore

Who are we looking for?

A senior level DevOps consultant with deep DevOps related expertise. The Individual should be passionate about technology and demonstrate depth and breadth of expertise in similar roles and Enterprise Systems/Enterprise Architecture Frameworks;

Technical Skills:

• 8+ years of relevant  DevOps /Operations/Development experience working under Agile  DevOps  culture on large scale distributed systems.

• Experience in building a DevOps platform in integrating DevOps tool chain using REST/SOAP/ESB technologies.

• Required hands on programming skills on developing automation modules using one of these scripting languages Python/Perl/Ruby/Bash

• Require hands on experience with public cloud such as AWS, Azure, Openstack, Pivotal Cloud Foundry etc though Azure experience is must.

• Experience in working more than one of the configuration management tools like Chef/Puppet/Ansible and building own cookbook/manifest is required.

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience in Building CI/CD pipelines using any of the continuous integration tools like Jenkins, Bamboo etc.

• Experience with planning tools like Jira, Rally etc.

• Hands on experience on continuous integration and build tools like (Jenkins, Bamboo, CruiseControl etc.) along with version control system like (GIT, SVN, GITHUB, TFS etc.), build automation tools like Maven/Gradle/ANT and dependency management tools like Artifactory/Nexus.

• Experience with more than one deployment automation tools like IBM urban code, CA automic, XL Deploy etc.

• Experience on setting up and managing  DevOps  tools on Repository, Monitoring, Log Analysis etc. using tools like (New Relic, Splunk, App Dynamics etc.)

• Understanding of Applications, Networking and Open source tools.

• Experience on security side of DevOps i.e. DevSecOps

• Good to have understanding of Micro services architecture.

• Experience working with remote/offshore teams is a huge plus

• Experience in building a Dashboard based on latest JS technologies like NodeJS

• Experience with NoSQL database like MongoDB

• Experience in working with REST APIs

• Experience with tools like NPM, Gulp

Process Skills:

• Ability in performing rapid assessments of clients’ internal technology landscape and targeting use cases and deployment targets

• Develop and create program blueprint, case study, supporting technical documentations for DevOps to be commercialized and duplicate work across different business customers

• Compile, deliver, and evangelize roadmaps that guide the evolution of services

• Grasp and communicate big-picture enterprise-wide issues to team

• Experience working in an Agile / Scrum / SAFe environment preferred

Primary Duties / Responsibilities:

• Build Automations and modules for DevOps platform

• Build integrations between various DevOps tools

• Interface with another teams to provide support and understand the overall vision of the transformation platform.

• Understand the customer deployment scenarios, and Continuously improve and update the platform based on agile requirements.

• Preparing HLDs and LLDs.

• Presenting status to leadership and key stakeholders at regular intervals

Qualification:

• Somebody who has at least 12+ years of work experience in software development.

• 5+ years industry experience in DevOps architecture related to Continuous Integration/Delivery solutions, Platform Automation including technology consulting experience

• Education qualification: B.Tech, BE, BCA, MCA, M. Tech or equivalent technical degree from a reputed college

Azure DevOps engineer should have a deep understanding of container principles and hands-on experience with Docker. 

They should also be able to set-up and manage clusters using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Additionally, understanding of API management, Azure Key-Vaults, ACR, networking concepts like virtual networks, subnets, NSG, route tables. Awareness of any one of the software like Apigee, Kong, or APIM in Azure is a must. Strong experience with IaC technologies like Terraform, ARM/ Bicep Templates, GitHub Pipelines, Sonar etc.

• Designing DevOps strategies: Recommending strategies for migrating and consolidating DevOps tools, designing an Agile work management approach, and creating a secure development process
• Implementing DevOps development processes: Designing version control strategies, integrating source control, and managing build infrastructure
• Managing application configuration and secrets: Ensuring system and infrastructure availability, stability, scalability, and performance
• Automating processes: Overseeing code releases and deployments with an emphasis on continuous integration and delivery
• Collaborating with teams: Working with architect and developers to ensure smooth code integration and collaborating with development and operations teams to define pipelines.
• Documentation: Producing detailed Development Architecture design, setting up the DevOps tools and working together with the CI/CD specialist in integrating the automated CI and CD pipelines with those tools
• Ensuring security and compliance/DevSecOps: Managing code quality and security policies
• Troubleshooting issues: Investigating issues and responding to customer queries

Requirements:

• Previously help a DevOps Engineer or System Engineer role

• 4+ years of production Linux system admin experience in high traffic environment

• 1+ years of experience with Amazon AWS and related services (instances, ELB,

   EBS, S3, etc.) and abstractions on top of AWS.

• Strong understanding of network fundamentals, IP and related services (DNS, VPN, firewalls, etc.) and    

   security concerns.

• Experience in running Docker and Kubernetes clusters in production.

• Love automating mundane tasks and make developers life easy

• Must be able to code in, at a minimum, Python (or Ruby) and Bash.

• Non-trivial production experience with Saltstack and/or Puppet, Composer,Jenkins, GIT

• Agile software development best practices - continuous integration, releases,branches, etc.

• Experience with modern monitoring tools; capacity planning.

• Some experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, Node.js, and PHP is a plus.

• Self-motivated, fast learner, detail-oriented, team player with a sense of humor

Experience in managing CI/CD using Jenkins.

As a DevOps Engineer, you :

- Will work collaboratively with the engineering and customer support teams to deploy and operate our systems. 

- Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations.

- Help automate and streamline our operations and processes. 

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our test and production environments. 

- Take control of various mandates and change management processes to ensure compliance for various certifications (PCI and ISO 27001 in particular) 

- Monitor and optimize the usage of various cloud services. 

- Setup and enforce CI/CD processes and practices

Skills required :

- Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, ELB, S3, SES, to name a few)

- Strong background in Linux/Unix administration and hardening 

- Experience with automation using Ansible, Terraform or equivalent 

- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools (Jenkins) 

- Experience with container related technologies (docker, lxc, rkt, docker swarm, kubernetes)

- Working understanding of code and script (Python, Perl, Ruby, Java)

- Working understanding of SQL and databases 

- Working understanding of version control system (GIT is preferred) 

- Managing IT operations, setting up best practices and tuning them from time-totime.

About You

You are building and monitoring CI/CD pipeline in AWS cloud. This is a highly scalable backend application building on Java platform. We need a resource who can troubleshoot, diagnose and rectify system service issues.

You’re cloud native with Terraform as an orchestration. You would use Terraform as a key Orchestration in Infrastructure as Code.

This is a key role within our DevOps team and will involve working as part of a collaborative agile team in a shared services DevOps organization to support and deliver innovative technology solutions that directly align with the delivery of business value and enhanced customer experience. The primary objective is to provide support to Amazon Web Services hosted environment, ensure continuous availability, working closely with development teams to ensure best value for money, and effective estate management.

• Setup CI/CD Pipeline from scratch along with integration of appropriate quality gates.
• Expertise level knowledge in AWS cloud. Provision and configure infrastructure as code using Terraform
• Build and configure Kubernetes-based infrastructure, networking policies, LBs, and cluster security. Define autoscaling and cost strategies.
• Automate the build of containerized systems with CI/CD tooling, Helm charts, and more
• Manage deployments and rollbacks of applications
• Implement monitoring and metrics with Cloud watch, Newrelic
• Troubleshoot and optimize containerized workload deployments for clients
• Automate operational tasks, and assist in the transition to service ownership models.

- You will manage all elements of the post-sale program relationship with your customers, starting with customer on-boarding and continuing throughout the customer relationship. 

- As the primary customer interface, you engage with customer teams to educate, identify needs, develop designs, set goals, manage and execute on plans that unlock continuous, incremental value from their investments in the CloudPassage Halo platform.

- You are hands-on during execution and thoroughly enjoy seeing your security projects come to life and supporting them afterwards. You are a trusted adviser.

Responsibilities :

- Manage a portfolio of 5+ Enterprise customer accounts with complex needs (typical enterprise customers invest between $500k and $4m+ per year with CloudPassage, have hundreds to tens of thousands of individual public cloud infrastructure deployments, and protect hundreds of thousands of cloud infrastructure assets with Halo).

- Provide level-3 technical support on your customer's most complex issues

- Lead implementation of low-level security controls in Cloud environments, for services, server and containers

- Remotely diagnose & resolve DevSecOps issues in customer environments - able to resolve their DevOps issues that may be interfering with CloudPassage processing.

- Interact with CloudPassage Engineering team by providing customer issue reproduction and data capture, technical diagnostics and validating fixes. QA experience preferred.

- Establish and program manage proactive, value-driven, high-touch relationships with your customers to understand, document and align customer strategies, business objectives, designs, processes and projects with Halo platform capabilities and broader CloudPassage services.

- Develop a trusted advisor relationship by building and maintaining appropriate relationships at all levels with your customer accounts, creating a premium and high-caliber experience.

- Ensure continued satisfaction, identify & confirm unaddressed customer needs that can be value-add opportunities for up-sell and cross-sell, and communicate those needs to the CloudPassage sales team. Identify any early CSAT issues and renewal risks and work with the internal team to remediate and ensure strong CSAT and a successful renewal.

- Be a strong customer advocate within CloudPassage and identify and support areas for improvement in the customer experience, both in our product and processes.

- Be team-oriented, but with a bias towards action to get things done for your customers.

Requirements : Strong cloud security knowledge & experience including :

- End-to-end enterprise security processes

- Cloud security - cloud migrations & shift in security requirements, tooling & approach

- Hands-on DevOps, DevSecOps architecture & automation (critical)

- 4+ years experience in security consulting and project/program management serving cybersecurity customers.

- Complex, level 3 technical support

- Remotely diagnosing & resolving DevSecOps issues in customer environments

- Interacting with CloudPassage Engineering team with customer issue reproduction

- Experience working in a security SaaS company in a startup environment.
 
- Experience working with Executive and C-Level teams.
