DevOps Engineer

We are looking for highly motivated Senior DevOps Engineer who can thrive in a fast-paced agile environment. You will be part of our scrum teams and contribute to the development of Java-based applications as well as participate to our DevOps community of practice.

Technically, you are proficient with the principles behind CI/CD, immutable infrastructure, Git Ops, Infra as Code and a best-in-class toolchain for a highly productive Developer Experience in a cloud first environment.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about repeatable process and automation, and understand the challenging decisions involved in creating scale, resilience, security and availability. The role will require co-ordination with Software Development and DevOps, SRE, Architecture.

Responsibilities:

·      Create deployment automation plans for high-throughput and low response time applications.

·      Build automation for deployments on-prem and in the cloud

·      Implement Continuous Integration on Jenkins

·      Build out application deployment containers to AWS (Amazon Web Services) EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Services) Red Hat Openshift

·      Coordinate with software engineering, infrastructure, network teams and other DevOps engineers

·      Build tools for testing, automation and monitoring that can improve predictability and reliability of deployments

Qualifications:

·      Master’s or bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering

·      4+ years of experience working in Infrastructure roles

·      2+ years of experience with DevOps

·      Strong experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm)

·      Fluency in Python or other programming or scripting language

·      Strong background in networking and server management on RHT Linux

·      Strong knowledge of the DevOps tool chain on the AWS Linux platform: Jenkins, Groovy, Nexus OSS, python/ java, ansible, code pipeline, confluence, git, cloud formation, etc. Strong knowledge on Infrastructure as a code framework such as Terraform and Ansible

·      Experience using APM tools like Splunk, Dynatrace

·      Experience with automated testing tools such as Selenium, Cucumber or Server Spec

·      Experience with automated load testing tools (JMeter)

·      Experience deploying automation solutions in a public cloud environment such as AWS

·      Operationally savvy, experience with monitoring, alerting, and analyzing system metrics to identify problems and understand system behavior

Job Summary: 

• we are actively seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer boasting a minimum of 5 years' of overall experience which includes 3 years' of hands-on working experience with AWS or Azure Cloud, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, Jenkins and either Python or BASH scripting. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a track record of proficiently executing projects utilizing these tools, with a keen ability to articulate their specific contributions and methodologies applied.
• This role mandates on-site presence at our Ahmedabad/Pune office. We offer competitive compensation commensurate with expertise and value contribution, with no salary constraints.
• Should be able to work in 24 X 7 shifts for support of infrastructure, Weekly rotational shifts.

Technical Skill

Roles and Responsibilities:-

• To Maintain the required uptime for Azure Cloud and IT Infrastructure.
• To provide the earliest resolution of the reported issues, which may include but are not limited to cloud & end-user related issues.
• Configuring and managing the alerts through Nagios, which may include but is not limited to scripting knowledge.
• Linux and Windows Server administration.
• Managing Firewalls and Domain Controllers.

Requirements

• Having relevant experience of 3+ yrs.
• Sound knowledge of Linux & Windows System administration
• Good Hands-on experience on Azure/AWS ( Willing to work on Azure only)
• Must be an expert in at least one of OpenStack, Cloudify, SaltStack, Rundeck, Ansible

Only 10% of India speaks English and 90% speak over 25 languages and 1000s of dialects. The internet has largely been in English. A good part of India is now getting internet connectivity thanks to cheap smartphones and Jio. The non-English speaking internet users will balloon to about 600 million users out of the total 750 million internet users in India by 2020. This will make the vernacular segment one of the largest segments in the world - almost 2x the size of the US population. The vernacular segment has very few products that they can use on the internet.

One large human need is that of sharing thoughts and connecting with people of the same community on the basis of language and common interests. Twitter serves this need globally but the experience is mostly in English. There’s a large unaddressed need for these vernacular users to express themselves in their mother tongue and connect with others from their community. Koo is a solution to this problem.

About Koo

Koo was founded in March 2020, as a micro-blogging platform in both Indian languages and English, which gives a voice to the millions of Indians who communicate in Indian languages.

Currently available in Assamese, Bengali, English, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu, Koo enables people from across India to express themselves online in their mother tongues. In a country where under 10% of the population speaks English as a native language, Koo meets the need for a social media platform that can deliver an immersive language experience to an Indian user, thereby enabling them to connect and interact with each other. • Experience between 3 to 7 years in a devops role with mandatory one or more stints at a fast paced startup.
