Big Data Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Campus Admin Officer to manage and maintain the Electrical, IT, and Communication systems The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day operations by promptly identifying and resolving technical issues with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Maintenance:

Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in office infrastructure.

Maintain office lights, fans, switches, and other electrical appliances.

Troubleshoot and monitor generators, UPS systems, and power supply cabling.

IT & Network Management:

Maintain and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and printers.

Manage office LAN network, structured cabling, and WiFi connectivity.

Configure and support basic networking devices such as routers, modems, and switches.

Maintain inventory of IT equipment and spare parts.

Coordinate with external vendors for repairs, servicing, and AMCs.

Intercom & Communication Systems:

Maintain and troubleshoot internal intercom systems.

Coordinate with service providers for timely maintenance and issue resolution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

1.5 – 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical and IT system maintenance.

Basic knowledge of networking and hardware troubleshooting.

Ability to communicate in English, Hindi, or Marathi.

Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

Ability to work independently and manage daily operational requirements efficiently.

The role requires a dependable individual who can take complete ownership of campus maintenance functions and ensure uninterrupted office operations.

Daily and monthly responsibilities

• Review and coordinate with business application teams on data delivery requirements.
• Develop estimation and proposed delivery schedules in coordination with development team.
• Develop sourcing and data delivery designs.
• Review data model, metadata and delivery criteria for solution.
• Review and coordinate with team on test criteria and performance of testing.
• Contribute to the design, development and completion of project deliverables.
• Complete in-depth data analysis and contribution to strategic efforts
• Complete understanding of how we manage data with focus on improvement of how data is sourced and managed across multiple business areas.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of data analysis working with business data initiatives.
• Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and use in data access and analysis.
• Proficient in data management including data analytical capability.
• Excellent verbal and written communications also high attention to detail.
• Experience with Python.
• Presentation skills in demonstrating system design and data analysis solutions.

The founder is Shariq Plasticwala. He is a graduate of IIT Bombay & Stanford GSB. He was part of the founding team of Amazon India where he played a key role for over 8 years. Among his roles at Amazon, he was the CEO of Amazon’s first joint venture in India and a Board Member of Amazon’s payments business.

Role

The role is a unique opportunity to be a part of the core team at KAFQA. The responsibilities of the role are per the below:

• Understand the needs of employees across different segments across their lifecycle (discovery of Kafqa opportunities, application experience, interview experience, decision experience, onboarding, settling down, scaling with the organization, attrition & separation) & design best in class experiences always thinking technology first
• Understand the needs of instructors separately and design best in class experiences for them in partnership with head of departments and other teams.
• Meet compliances mandated by central & state governments.

The role is based in Bangalore, India and reports directly to the Founder, CEO of KAFQA.

Experience, Qualifications & Person Type

The ideal candidate is someone who –

• Has 5+ years of experience preferably in a HR role

• Have 3 - 6 years of experience working in a high speed Product B2B start up doing Full-stack or ReactJS software development
• Have demonstrated experience in Front-end developer tooling, React js and its core principles
• Have experience with popular React js workflows (such as Hooks and Redux), React Material UI,Data structure libraries (e.g., Immutable js)and with RESTful APIs
• Have experience in debugging, problem-solving, and improving application performance. 
• Are willing to learning new technologies on your own.
• Have knowledge in best practices for the whole software development cycle (TDD/CI/CD) and agile methodologies.
• Have good knowledge of version control.
• Have the ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools. 
• Have good communication ability and can articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions.
