Senior Software Engineer - 221254.

We (the Software Engineer team) are looking for a motivated, experienced person with a data driven approach to join our Distribution Team in Budapest or Szeged to help design, execute and improve our test sets and infrastructure for producing high-quality Hadoop software.

A Day in the life

You will be part of a team that makes sure our releases are predictable and deliver high value to the customer. This team is responsible for automating and maintaining our test harness, and making test results reliable and repeatable.

You will…

•work on making our distributed software stack more resilient to high-scale endurance runs and customer simulations

•provide valuable fixes to our product development teams to the issues you’ve found during exhaustive test runs

•work with product and field teams to make sure our customer simulations match the expectations and can provide valuable feedback to our customers

•work with amazing people - We are a fun & smart team, including many of the top luminaries in Hadoop and related open source communities. We frequently interact with the research community, collaborate with engineers at other top companies & host cutting edge researchers for tech talks.

You have...

•strong knowledge in at least 1 of the following languages: Java / Python / Scala / C++ / C#

•hands-on experience with at least 1 of the following configuration management tools: Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt

•confidence with Linux environments

•ability to identify critical weak spots in distributed software systems

•experience in developing automated test cases and test plans

•ability to deal with distributed systems

•solid interpersonal skills conducive to a distributed environment

•ability to work independently on multiple tasks

•self-driven & motivated, with a strong work ethic and a passion for problem solving

•innovate and automate and break the code

Job Roles & Responsiblities:

Shift Timing

You will get an opportunity to work with Global customers (APAC, EMEA, and North America) So this would require you to work in monthly rotational shifts.

This role can be based out of our Gurugram/Bangalore Office or remotely in the India region.

Candidate Profile

We’re looking for a highly technical individual, with strong problem-solving and communication skills, and is comfortable working closely with customers. 

Our ideal candidate will have

• Excellent analytical, diagnostic skills, and problem-solving skills
• High motivation for a role that combines deep technical and customer-management dimensions
• Confidence speaking and presenting in a collaborative customer setting
• 4+ years of software development/consulting/support experience, preferably in a number of distinct industries/verticals
• Familiarity with enterprise-scale software architectures, application development methodologies, and software deployment and operations
• Competence in at least one of the following languages (in no particular order): Java, C#, Python, Node.js (JavaScript), Ruby, Go.
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with Linux diagnostics and tuning; Windows tuning knowledge is a plus
• Should have the strong capability with, minimally, both English and any local language - as necessary

As a core member of the MongoDB Professional Services team, you will

• Contribute to helping migrate customers from self-hosted MongoDB on-prem/cloud to Atlas
• Contribute to customer implementations at any or all phases of the application lifecycle: portfolio assessment, application planning, and design, deployment architectures, development and build, integration and release configuration, system testing, production operations, application optimization, and best practices adoption
• Work as part of a wider delivery team comprising fellow consulting engineers, project managers, and account teams
• Cultivate your individual MongoDB reputation as a trusted advisor to guide MongoDB and our customers into the future
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to influence the direction of the MongoDB product roadmap

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• 3-5 years of work experience in the development background, with at least 2 years experience in Java, Spring, Sprint Boot, Hibernate or JPA, MySQL, Oracle, Spring MVC.
• B.E. degree in Computer Science, Graduate in Software Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in Core JAVA, Spring, Spring Boot Frameworks.
• Experience with ORM's like Hibernate.
• Good knowledge of developing RESTful web services using Spring Boot, Java1.x,Servlet2.4, JSP2.0, JDBC3.0, Java Mail, Struts2.x, HTML, HTML5, Angular7+, JavaScript, JSF, Bootstrap2.x-3.x, JQuery & CSS 3.x, Maven 3.x, Apache Tomcat7
• Knowledge of Cloud AWS.
• Experience in any Messaging Queue e.g. Apache Kafka, ActiveMQ, etc.
• Experience on Web services with REST and SOAP.
• Experience working on tool set like Eclipse IDE, SQL clients.
• Experience using application server like Jboss, TomCat, Wildfly, glassfish.
• Experience in using tools like SOAP UI, POSTMAN
• Ability to write SQL queries to fetch data.
• Knowledge of Micro services, Redis Cache and Mongo DB (or any other NoSQL) is good to have
