Backend Tech Lead

Your Impact:

•                 Implements Digital Consumer experiences based on a foundation of SFCC (Salesforce commerce cloud) to meet expected quality standards

•                 Ensures functional requirements and high-level solution designs are understood and are translated into detailed technical design

•                 Implement proofs of concept to prove any new technologies, application flows or integration scenarios and identify customizations needed to SFCC platform for meeting client requirements

•                 Guides the performance tuning and scalability of the ecommerce solution

•                 Diagnose and solve technical problems during implementation and support phases

Your Skills & Experience:

•                 4-8 Years with 2+ years of implementing commerce application on any eCommerce platform in last 3 years

•                 If you have not worked in eCommerce platform, we can still discuss with you if you are expert in Java/.Net and understand REST/SOAP webservices.

•                 Demonstrate proficiency in build and release management using CI/CD strategies (leveraging tools like Jenkins and DevOps practices), implement Mocha/Chai unit and functional test cases in order to reduce costs while ensuring quality

•                 Contributes to designing, implementing and documenting the build release process as well as system configuration and deployment characteristics of the applications

•                 Participates in technical walkthroughs/ code reviews of other team members’ components, test plans and results and help them with gaps

•                 Collaborate with architect to define implementation processes and quality gates and standards

•                 Identifies risks and issues, and help monitor them

•                 Guides the development of reference and resource materials

•                 Mentors developers in improving their platform knowledge and development skills

•                 Communicate technical design to the developers and help/guide them in the implementation

•                 Participates in Agile sprints

Examples of technical tasks:

Working on our backend SDK to implement APIs that will be consumed by the frontend widgets

Designing APIs for different auth recipes

You will also be given non technical tasks like product brain storming, competitor analysis and writing documentation.

Requirements

Well versed in java with 2+ years of professional experience

Familiar with and comfortable working with Web frameworks like FastAPI, Django and Flask

Familiar with HTTP networking in java

Strong understanding of async and sync modes in java

Job Overview

We are looking for a talented Senior Backend Developer to join our team in developing backend servicing. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js. The ideal candidate is passionate about distributed systems, has experience with backend services and is excited about optimising applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in backend development, with at least 4 years of experience using Node.js.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience with web frameworks such as Express.js.
• Proficiency in building RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.

• New features developed independently with the ability to document the design after understanding and evaluating the requirements with necessary groundwork on required application components
• Hands-on coding to implement the design for feature completion

• Able to handle the multi-tenant and performance requirements of the new features and applications.
• Integrate the new features with existing modules, deliver ready to use code meeting necessary build requirements and CI/CD requirements.
• Work with other functional groups for product, technology, QA, tech support and deployment team.

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications.

• BE/B.Tech Degree from a reputed institution with at least 7 years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience with Core Java, J2EE with a good knowledge of its ecosystem
• Experience with JUnit, JMH like performance tuning test tools preferred
• REST API design and development experience. Usage of Swagger or other API spec tools would be preferred. Working knowledge on Spring Boot is a plus
• Hands-on experience with some of the following application components is a plus: Solr, Kafka, OpenTSDB, Elasticsearch, Janus graph or any graph DB.
• Experience with databases such as MongoDB, MySQL or PostgreSQL required.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and build tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI, Maven, Ant required
• Experience building applications using microservices architecture is highly preferred. Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker would be ideal
• Working knowledge on public clouds like AWS or Google cloud or Azure is a plus
• Experience building scalable systems
• Strong problem solving skills and ability and interest to solve complex problems
• Interest in machine learning (ML) data science is a plus
