🎬Job Description:

We are looking for an Engineering Leader with a focus on building maintainable and scalable applications. The Lead will be responsible for the design and development of Jodo’s fee payments platform and be owning one of the products/verticals. Leads will be closely working

with Product Managers and Founders to execute projects from ideation to completion. As a hands-on Team Lead, you will take ownership of services/systems and guide a team of

developers.

📈Key Responsibilities

● Own and drive the development of one or more of Jodo’s products

● Take the lead in the design and development of the backend platform

● Mentor a team of developers, promote collaboration and engagement, and promote practices that improve the developer experience

● Work closely with Product Managers and Founders to brainstorm requirements and prioritize

● Own quality - actively participate in code reviews

● Own reliability - continuously monitor Production Health, proactively fix production issues

● Own execution - Plan and delegate work for the team, optimize for speed of development and incremental delivery

📃Requirements

● 6+ years of hands-on experience in application development

● 1+ years of leading a team

● Experience in working with distributed systems

● Proficient in building Microservices/RESTful APIs with any modern tech stack

● Working knowledge of relational and nonrelational databases

● Prior working knowledge of Python/Django is a big plus

● Familiarity with modern CI/CD tools

● Knowledge of AWS or any other Cloud Platform services

● Champion code quality and drive best practices

● Ability to analyze and convert business requirements into technical requirements

● Self-starter and ability to take the ownership

● Prior experience working in a startup environment is great to have

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

The Team

The team is a new and growing Innovation Accelerator that is exploring new ideas to expand the business. As part of the team, you will work on innovative projects that are fast paced and iterate quickly. You will learn about the modern data stack ecosystem. You will also be involved in every stage of the project - from ideation to delivering products and features to customers. Cloudera customers include the largest banks, telecom providers, and companies in pharma, financial services, retail, manufacturing, oil and gas and government. 

You will:

• Build robust and scalable data infrastructure software

• Design and create services and system architecture for your projects 

• Contribute to and provide feedback to other team members

• Improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation, and code reviews

• Brainstorm and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms and products

• Work with product, design, customer-success teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and translate those into effective technical solutions

• Dive into challenging technical problems and successfully deliver results

And since we believe in high quality software engineering environments, you likely have:

• Worked with a team of designers/engineers who reviewed each other's code/designs and held each other to an extremely high bar for quality of code/designs

• Be comfortable providing estimates and sticking to estimates!

• Written unit tests and testable code

• Depended on continuous integration, and participated in build and release processes

• Own the quality of the code you wrote even (especially!) when it is running in production

• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field/experience

• 5+ years of experience building software

• Experience building distributed systems/databases

• Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Nodejs, Python, java 

  • Cloud services like Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Platform, Microsoft Azure

  • Kubernetes

• Proven hands-on Software Development experience
• Proven working experience in Java development
• Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms
• Object Oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
• Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
• Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
• Experience in the Spring Framework
• Experience as a Sun Certified Java Developer
• Experience in developing web applications using at least one popular web

• Develop client projects using Asp.net core 3.1 and above, MySQL Database, Azure Functions, CosmosDB, C#.
• Communicate with external clients on a regular basis regarding progress, challenges, timelines and results of client projects
• Gather technical requirements as needed
• Create and update, design and functional documents
• Identify and troubleshoot issues as needed
• Perform a new development as required
• Implement project applications according to specifications
• Research technical issues and provide recommendations to enhance client websites
• Work both independently and as part of a team to create reliable and high-performing Web Applications
• Unit test code to ensure quality
