Backend Engineer

Job Description:

• Experience in Core Java 5.0 and above, CXF, Spring.
• Extensive experience in developing enterprise-scale n-tier applications for financial domain. Should possess good architectural knowledge and be aware of enterprise application design patterns.
• Should have the ability to analyze, design, develop and test complex, low-latency client-facing applications.
• Good development experience with RDBMS, preferably Sybase database.
• Good knowledge of multi-threading and high-volume server-side development.
• Experience in sales and trading platforms in investment banking/capital markets.
• Basic working knowledge of Unix/Linux.
• Excellent problem solving and coding skills in Java.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and analytical skills.
• Should have the ability to express their design ideas and thoughts.

Role & Responsibilities

• You will be working with the Rust compiler and will be responsible for compiling to alternate targets such as WebAssembly
• You will be exposed with TDD for unit testing individual functions and integration testing for testing publicly exposed APIs
• Working with a Git style workflow where every commit deploys to a stagingenvironment and merged pull requests deploy to production
• Setting up CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment (canary, staging) using Github actionsaccording to project needs
• Developing software in Rust
• Maintaining and improving existing rust codebases.

What you'll work on

As a Software Engineer, you will be working on development project which will be based on API transitions, API Management ,API Monetization engine (based on Java, Springboot & AWS) and high traffic transactions.

Key responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you apply deep experience and technical know-how in the Software Engineering domain with-

• 7-10 years of experience

• Design, build and maintain multiple complex software application technologies and their interaction with Telstra processes and systems

• Develop innovative software that maintains data/network security management, and leverage set processes to reduce the time between commission and production

• Authentically engage with and influence a multi-stakeholder landscape to translate customer needs into leading-edge software application products, services or systems that meet Telstra’s time, cost and quality standards

In this role you will help develop networking and security technologies as a service (SaaS) to solve customers’ multi-cloud problem. • Good understanding and experience in L2 to L7 networking protocols including but not limited to Ethernet, TCP/IP, VLAN, BGP, HTTP

• Good understanding of container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes etc.,

• Working knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitLab, Argo

• Ability to implement all phases of a development cycle for a software product from understanding requirements, going through design, development and deploy phases

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/related field 

• 5+ years of software development experience in Java 8+ and Microservices.
• Experience in developing micro services. Experience in developing High Cohesion & Loosely Coupled Micro Services.
• Experienced in skills of requirement, analysis, design, develop, Java, springboot, microservices, rest api, AWS, lambda, EC2, Jenkins, design pattern, spring security, splunk, auth, docker, SOLID
• Hands on experience on Microservices Architecture.
• Should have excellent acumen in Data Structures, algorithms, problem-solving and Logical/Analytical skills. Thorough understanding of OOPS concepts, Design principles and implementation of different type of Design patterns.
• Experience with Multithreading, Concurrent Package and Concurrent APIs
• Basic understanding of Java Memory Management (JMM) including garbage collections concepts.
• Experience in RDBMS or NO SQL databases and writing SQL queries (Joins, group by, aggregate functions, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Message Broker like Kafka/Rabbitmq or other. Hands-on experience in creating RESTful webservices and consuming web services. Hands-on experience with spring Cloud/Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with any of the logging frameworks (SLF4J/LogBack/Log4j)
• Experience of writing Junit test cases using Mockito / Powermock frameworks. Should have practical experience with Maven/Gradle and knowledge of version control systems like Git/SVN etc.
