Backend Developer

Overview of the role

As a Node Developer you will be collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design and build performant modern web applications and services. Build high-quality web applications and services by writing clean and modular code.

Must have skills

• Overall 3-5 Years of experience in writing unit and integration tests to ensure the robustness and reliability of web applications and services.
• Measure and improve the performance of microservices. Catalyse growth within the team through code reviews and pair programming to maintain high development standards
• Investigate operational issues to find the root cause and propose improvements Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripe’s engineering teams.
• Expert level of experience in the design and development of Web Applications, and highly scalable distributed systems.
• Should have experience in development skills using the latest technologies including NodeJS(fastify framework), Microservices, PostgreSQL, Redis, etc. Should have exposure to NoSQL and SQL development.
• Comprehensive knowledge of physical and logical data modeling, and performance tuning.
• Should possess excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and productively with globally dispersed teams.
• Build high-performance teams and Coach teams for successful career growth.
• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimization, and designing schema

Bachelors/Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology

Developer – Golang 

Responsibilities: 

• An individual contributor who will be part of the Software R&D team working on the following areas 

• Backend work in Golang, Micro services architecture 

• Work with internal team and customers to deliver solutions that will meet the customer needs with respect to the performance security, scalability and functionality. 

• Implementation of API and authentication methods using JWT 

• Writing scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and easily maintainable code 

• Translating software requirements into stable, working, high performance software 

Skills 

• 2-5 years of experience in Go programming language 

• Strong experience in working with Goroutine and channel patterns 

• Experience in Go framework for DB, JSON, Sockets, Web Frameworks and tools 

• Knowledge of logging and configuration packages like Zap, Viper 

• Experience in writing unit tests for Golang code 

• Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git or Azure Repo 

• Should have knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, or any RDBMS 

• Good knowledge of Linux / Ubuntu

Key Responsibilities and Scope

• Framework development and integration
• Prototype and Proof of concept development
• Creation, configuration, and monitoring Shards sets. Architecture and capacity planning for MongoDB clusters. 
• Assisting senior developers in detecting performance issues in the system by deploying MMS and MongoDB profilers
• Implementation of MongoDB advanced concepts like locking, transactions, indexes, Sharding, replication, schema design. 
• Maintain MongoDB replication with replica set factors, arbiters, voting, priority, server distribution, slave delays. 

Technical Skills

- Database & Languages:  MongoDB, B-tree, MongoDB Profiler, Javascript, MongoDB Compass, Mongo Booster

- Others: Elastic Stack, MMS, MongoDB Management service

Qualifications and Experience location GMT+8 or GMT+5:30

• Ability to work remotely or on-site (if Malaysia)
• Executing elastic stack in production scale Passion for best design, developing, and coding practices
• Creating servers and databases for functionality
• Maximizing application performance, uptime, and scalability, maintaining high standards of code quality and thoughtful application design
• Excellent debugging and optimization skills
• Unit/integration testing experience
• Experience in analyzing and visualizing the data along with data modeling
• Experience in upgrading different databases and also migration of data among multiple databases. 
• Experience in MongoDB installation, patching, troubleshooting, performance, tracking/tuning, backup, and recovery in dynamic environments. 
• Experience in managing the life cycle of MongoDB including sizing, automation, monitoring, and tuning
• Experience in working with MongoDB ops Manager, Cloud Manager, and Atlas Manager
• Experience in analyzing chunk migrations, splitting, and balancing across the clusters.

• Lead a full product development lifecycle from ideation, design, development, to roll out and support
• Own the delivery of multiple features of the product end to end while hands-on in development as well
• Advocate best development practices such as continuous integration/continuous delivery, automation (testing and infrastructure)

1. 7+ Years’ of experience, managing teams of 5+ people
2. Must have excellent programming, debugging and scripting skills with a solid understanding of Object Oriented Design principles.
3. Proficiency in at least two of the following: Java, NodeJS, Go, JavaScript, Python programming stacks, and passion for software engineering and craftsman-like coding prowess
4. Knowledge of software practices like refactoring, clean code, domain driven design, Encapsulation etc
5. Hands on experience managing databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis.
6. Exposure to event driven systems and event streaming engines like Kafka
7. Good knowledge of DevOps tooling like docker, kubernetes, ansible/chef, AWS.  

• Good experience on RESTful services

• .Should have previous working experience on Sql and Postgresql  
•  Must have relevant experience in NodeJS from 3-5years.
