Backend Developer

FactWise is a fully funded, early-stage startup building b2b SaaS for a global SMB client base. Our team has alumni from MIT, Stanford, GeorgiaTech, UCL, the IITs, VJTI, Amazon and McKinsey, and currently comprises frontend, backend, full stack developers, UI/UX engineers, product managers, data scientist, and Ops, HR, Marketing. As a member of the development group, you will be primarily responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the product:  

• Help define and create full stack architecture and deployment using React- Django-AWS in an agile environment with lots of ownership and active mentoring. 
• Work with the Product and Design teams to build new features to solve business problems and fill business needs 
• Participate in code reviews to create robust and maintainable code 
• Work in an agile environment where quick iterations and good feedback are a way of life 
• Interact with other stakeholders for requirement, design discussions and for adoption of new features 
• Communicate and coordinate with our support and professional services teams to solve customer issues. 
• Help scale our platform as we expand our product across various markets and verticals globally.

1. Design patterns- socket communication/ micro services architecture

2. Caching - REDIS MEMCACHED etc

3. Database - MONGO, SQL etc. min 2yrs experience with these.

4. Features created for large concurrent requests.

5. Node Js, Go lang any asynchronous programming language min 2 yrs exp with any one of them.

6. Message Queues - RABBIT MQ, Kafka etc.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Rewrite existing APIs in NodeJS. 
• Remodel the APIs into Micro services-based architecture. 
• Implement a caching layer wherever possible. 
• Optimize the API for high performance and scalability. 
• Write unit tests for API Testing.
• Automate the code testing and deployment process.

Skills Required: 

• At least 2 years of experience developing Backends using NodeJS — should be well versed with its asynchronous nature & event loop, and know its quirks and workarounds. 
• Excellent hands-on experience using MySQL or any other SQL Database. 
• Good knowledge of MongoDB or any other NoSQL Database. 
• Good knowledge of Redis, its data types, and their use cases. 
• Experience with graph-based databases like GraphQL and Neo4j. 
• Experience developing and deploying REST APIs. 
• Good knowledge of Unit Testing and available Test Frameworks. 
• Good understanding of advanced JS libraries and frameworks. 
• Experience with Web sockets, Service Workers, and Web Push Notifications. 
• Familiar with NodeJS profiling tools. 
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git. 
• Good knowledge of creating and maintaining DevOps infrastructure on cloud platforms. 
• Should be a fast learner and a go-getter — without any fear of trying out new things Preferences. 
• Experience building a large scale social or location-based app.

Must have experience on Java, Spring MVC / Boot, Hibernate / MyBatis 

- Must have experience on building large scale application 

- Must have experience on RESTful Web-Services 

- Must be good in problem solving, Data structures and Algorithms. 

- Strong understanding of Web Architectures, E-commerce solutions 

- Strong understanding of any MySql / Postgresql 

- Strong understanding of any Redis / Memcached / Mongodb / Elasticsearch 

- Hands-on experience on GCP / AWS would be an added advantage 

- Hands-on experience on Kubernetes / Docker would be an added advantage 

- Basic knowledge of version control system like Git / Mercurial / Bitbucket 

- Writes well managed and clean codes 

7+ years of experience with Design, development & architecture.

• Experience in software development with minimum 3 plus years of architecture experience.
• Experience in Core JAVA 8
• Experience in Java J2EE, Microservices
• Experience in Java - Spring, Java - SpringBoot, GCP , Hibernate,JDBC
• Experience in Multi-threading, Performance and Scaling is a plus
• Have used the RDBMS and NoSQL databases like MySQL/Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4J Risk for production ready software’s
• Cloud Native application design experience is a plus
• CICD – Release Pipeline experience
• Experience in application of principles of Architecture Design
• Experience building large scale, high performance distributed systems
• Strong understanding of modern development techniques and processes such as Dev Ops /Cloud
• Promoter of Agile/Scrum, TDD and CI/CD best practices
• Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies software enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked or Internet-related computer programs. (Code must be used in core version of applications available for sale commercially.)
• Interacts with Delivery managers and/or users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.
• Participates in software design meetings and analyzes user needs to determine technical requirements.
• Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
• Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications using current programming languages and technologies.
• Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance.
• Trains and communicates with internal Client Training, Client Relationship and Sales teams on systems application.
• May be responsible for developing or executing project plans, budgets and schedules and for documenting work and results.
• May deliver informational and decision-seeking presentations to technical and business groups to internal and/or external audiences.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 8-12 years’ of industry experience in programming web applications, mobile and/or large scale enterprise products
• Deep knowledge of C#, ASP, .NET, MVC, .Net core
• Deep knowledge and extensive experience working on Ruby or React and JavaScript, as required
• Experience with XML, ADO/ADO.NET, LINQ, AJAX, IIS
• Extended experience with SQL, relational and non-relational databases
• Experience in TFS and Visual Studio
• Hands on experience with SDLC and programming design patterns
• Experience with Agile methodology
• Skillful at reviewing new feature impact on an application and recognizing potential risks
• Uses time effectively and efficiently
• Quickly learns new technologies
• Detailed oriented, professional and possesses a positive work attitude
• Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, investigating problem areas, following the software development lifecycle.
• Conducts systems analysis and makes recommendations to improve the system to achieve an outcome.
• Promotes internal best practices and coding conventions to write and execute tests for your own code, including creating comprehensive unit tests.
• Contributes to Technical Requirements Documents.
• Requests constructive feedback for designs early in the process.
• Communicates successfully with large teams and many stakeholders.
• Provides mentorship for Software Engineers and participates in interview panels to hire new Software Engineers.
• Assists in removing obstacles for the team to yield successful sprints.
• Performs peer code reviews to ensure quality of the codebase.
• Ability to decompose and delegate work to junior engineers.
• Updates job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, participating in professional organizations.
• Works effectively with multiple projects and features.
