Backend Developer - Node.js | MySQL

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled SQL Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database management systems, experience in writing complex SQL queries, and a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms. The SQL Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining SQL databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize SQL databases, tables, views, stored procedures, and triggers.
• Develop efficient and complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
• Create and maintain database schema designs, data models, and ER diagrams.
• Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries for better performance.
• Implement indexing strategies, query optimization techniques, and other performance tuning practices.
• Ensure data integrity and security by designing and implementing database constraints, data validation rules, and security policies.
• Work with software developers, data analysts, and system administrators to integrate SQL databases with other applications and systems.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide solutions.
• Document database designs, stored procedures, and other database-related activities.
• Maintain accurate records of database changes, optimizations, and configurations.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience as an SQL Developer or in a similar role.
• Proven experience in database design, development, and management.
• Experience with SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational database management systems.
• Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Strong understanding of indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with database security best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Experience with cloud-based databases (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).

Requirements

• Extensive and expert programming experience in at least one general programming language (e. g.

Java, C, C++) & tech stack to write maintainable, scalable, unit-tested code.

• Experience with multi-threading and concurrency programming.

• Extensive experience in object oriented design skills, knowledge of design patterns, and a huge passion

and ability to design intuitive modules and class-level interfaces.

• Excellent coding skills - should be able to convert design into code fluently.

• Knowledge of Test Driven Development.

• Good understanding of databases (e. g. MySQL) and NoSQL (e. g. HBase, Elasticsearch, Aerospike etc).

• Strong desire to solve complex and interesting real world problems.

• Experience with full life cycle development in any programming language on a Linux platform.

• Go-getter attitude that reflects in energy and intent behind assigned tasks.

• Worked in a startup-like environment with high levels of ownership and commitment.

• BTech, MTech or Ph. D. in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent).

• Experience in building highly scalable business applications, which involve implementing large complex

business flows and dealing with huge amounts of data.

• 3+ years of experience in the art of writing code and solving problems on a large scale.

• Open communicator who shares thoughts and opinions frequently, listens intently, and takes

constructive feedback.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with teammates to define, design, and shape new features.

2. Design and develop backend API microservices using Node.js.

3. Design and develop applications in an AWS and GCP environment.

4. Design and implement low-latency, high-availability, and performant applications.

5. Write reusable, testable, and efficient code.

6. Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade the software.

Requirements

1. Solid experience in Node.js.

2. Good experience using frameworks such as Express.JS or Restify.

3. Willing to learn HapiJS.

4. Hands-on experience with JavaScript Development.

5. Able to work independently and carry out a task to achieve the design goal with minimal supervision.

6. Good programming skills and communications.

• B.E (or equivalent) in Computer Sciences
• 6-9 years of experience building enterprise class products/platforms.

• Excellent coding skills in one of Core Java or NodeJS
• Demonstrated problem solving skills in previous roles.

• In-depth knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, AJAX

• VueJS, AngularJS, ReactJS - knowledge of any 1 is required
• Between 1-5 years of work experience is required
• Very strong data structure and algorithm knowledge
