Backend Developer

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Backend Developer with proven expertise in FastAPI to join our team as a full-time contractor for 12 months. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in backend development, a strong understanding of API design, and the ability to deliver scalable, secure solutions. Knowledge of front-end technologies is an added advantage. Immediate joiners are preferred. This role requires full-time commitment—please apply only if you are not engaged in other projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Python and FastAPI.
•  Implement and manage Prisma ORM for database operations.
• Build scalable APIs and integrate with SQL databases and third-party services.
• Deploy and manage backend services using Azure Function Apps and Microsoft Azure Cloud.
• Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to deliver high-quality web applications.
• Ensure application performance, security, and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.

Required Skills:

• Expertise in Python backend development with strong experience in FastAPI.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Proficiency in SQL databases and ORM tools (preferably Prisma)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud and Azure Function Apps.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker).
• Knowledge of cloud architecture best practices.

Added Advantage:

• Front-end development knowledge (React, Angular, or similar frameworks).
• Exposure to AWS/GCP cloud platforms.
• Experience with NoSQL databases.

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Available for full-time engagement.

A B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Sc, a SDE should have 1-3 years of experience in SW solution development. We are specifically looking for a SDE who:

• is highly proficient in Java Coreand Spring boot applications including making high quality, highly performing code under JVM environment. 
• has good working knowledge in design of n-Tier databases (Postgres, NoSQL DBs e.g. Cassandra/MongoDB)
• has worked in agile development environment under open source gitlab including testing, change management
• is highly proficient in OOD, extensibility, usability, understand data pre-processing
• has exposure to full life cycle of product implementation and deployment of enterprise products driving a subsystem including development under gitlab or github.
• [Desirable] Ability to optimize an ML solution for accuracy and scale
• [Desirable] has experience in working with Advanced Java

• Strong proficiency with JavaScript and TypeScript
• Knowledge of Node.js and loopback 4 frameworks
• Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
• Basic understanding of front-end technologies, such as React
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
• Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop, and optimizing output to match the specific platform
• Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
• Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: 

• Compile and analyze data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement. 
• Collaborate with the front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design more functional, cohesive codes to enhance the user experience. 

• Develop ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends. 
• Record data and report it to proper parties, such as clients or leadership. 
• Participate in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members. 
• Take the lead on projects, as needed. 
• Be involved and participate in the overall application lifecycle. 

• Build high-quality reusable code that can be used in the future. 
• Develop functional and sustainable web applications with clean codes. 
• Conduct UI tests and optimize performance. 
• Manage cutting-edge technologies to improve applications. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming or relevant field. Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred. 
• 5-7 years of relevant experience 
• Must be an expert programmer, skilled at computer languages such as HTML, C+++, C#, PHP, Python and Java. 
• Must understand Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, JMS, Mysql, Redis, CouchDb, Micro Services, Docker, Kubernetes 
• Must be able to interpret and follow instructions related to the ultimate functionality of our IT-based product 

• Familiarity with front-end languages such as HTML, JavaScript and CSS 
• Must be comfortable with technology architecture and how a computer and its software functions. 
• Deadline driven, organized and understand how people view and understand content on the front-end 
• Proven experience in highly complex environments 
• Strong technical documentation skills
